    Gaming Addiction

This is a very serious thread, please don't make me bust out the troll spray. For anyone with questions regarding this topic, refer to the link below. It has many helpful resources.

    http://www.video-game-addiction.org

It's almost summer, go out an enjoy being young. Gaming addiction is serious business. Take an extended break, or cut down your playtime, you won't be any less of a person for not having 4 subs at rank 40 for each main class by July. If you game all summer you will miss out on camping, biking, travelling/ road trips, swimming, tanning, going to the beach, bbqs etc, and all the other fun things life has to offer during any season.

To the people playing 100+ hours a week (barring bed-ridden agoraphobics), if you don't think there's enough content now, how do you think the devs will ever keep up with your lifestyle? Whenever they release new content, you'll burn through it in less than a week and you'll QQ til the cows come home (lol). Also, maybe you could give the casuals some time to catch up? I doubt anyone waiting for the PS3 edition is saying to themselves that they can't wait to catch up to people who already have ten classes at cap.

There's more to life than mediocre JRPGs.

Bump this if you have a friend or spouce with a gaming addiction.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

I would rather you not mention agorophobics as that is a different and serious mental issue and not easily curable by telling someone to get off the bed.

I would be surprised if there weren't at least a couple, also they haven't played the game yet so they are unaware of the all the fun.

Misha gaming addiction is very real, its tantamount to gambling addictions.
EDIT: To say that MMORPGs aren't designed to be addictive would be pretty ignorant.

Addiction to gaming? LoL... We all have our hobbies, but just because it involves media people cry addiction. ALOT of people with ALOT of different hobbies spend as much or more time with their hobby of choice. Gaming/mmo'ing isn't the healthiest choice but it's simply that.... a choice... not an addiction... just pathetic **** started with/by people who have no control or control over their kids due to poor parenting as well as greedy lawyers and religious nuts trying to control what they think is acceptable by pushing their views on others. That's all I'm going to say, not going to read any responses... Just thought this was a good laugh, great way to start the morning! xD

Oh and just wanted to add that alot of top form actual gamers need and very much do stay in shape due to the obvious fact that a healthy mind and body coincide with higher ability to play better in games. Everyone always focus's on the dumb people, but ALOT of gamer's esp nowaday's are quite fit. Heck, majority of good friends from this game alone workout everyday and then some :P girls AND guys mind you^^ ... check your facts... people and their sad excuses LoL Get over yourselves and let people take responsibility for their actions...
