You look a lot like jack thompson nowYou guys are demonizing me and ad-homonym attacking me over a thread that promotes well being for people who have a serious illness. I'm not telling anyone how to live their lives, I'm providing tools to help one determine if they have an illness in the first place and tools to help deal with it.
I'm sorry if you people can't wrap your minds around it.
Do you want an apology?? If you do, go drink some bleach and then I'll apolgize.

No need for an apology, you just need to...calm down a bit. That would surely be a good start. You guys are demonizing me and ad-homonym attacking me over a thread that promotes well being for people who have a serious illness. Whether or not what you're calling a "serious illness" is in fact a serious illness is a matter of opinion.
And you absolutely are telling people how to live their lives.
That doesn't sound like providing tools to me. Those are commands. It's almost summer, go out an enjoy being young. Gaming addiction is serious business. Take an extended break, or cut down your playtime, you won't be any less of a person for not having 4 subs at rank 40 for each main class by July. If you game all summer you will miss out on camping, biking, travelling/ road trips, swimming, tanning, going to the beach, bbqs etc, and all the other fun things life has to offer during any season.
Bottom line, even if one considers gaming to be addictive, your post is tantamount to telling an insomniac they need to go to sleep.
Also, I wouldn't trust anything from the CRC Health Group, including that website you link to. They are a for-profit organization full of greedy lobbyists that would just love for you to admit to having all the "disorders" they advertise, because it's money in their pockets if you do.

I see what you're trying to do! Getting everyone else to leave for a few months so you can get ahead of us! Don't try to trick me!
*furiously levels more subs*
Your reverse psychology won't work on me...

No medical journal on the planet called Video Game Addiction a Illness yet. the APA doesn't recognize it. And it is not claimable as disability or for insurance purposes for "treatment." Therefor it is not an Illness.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
The problem JackD is the fact you think video game addiction is the illness as do many ignorant people and that is just the catalyst to an underlining problem. The people who succumb to extreme game addiction have a mental illness period and video games catch the flak for it. No matter what those people were doing whether it was playing games, collecting junk, or even being self harmful like cutting themselves or any other million possibilties of things they could do they will always go to the most extreme because they have a preexisting mental illness. Whether they are bi-polar, schizo, or lack self confidence, other people always look for something else to blame instead of actually blaming the real problem itself.

Exacly what i said.
