Please no pointing fingers or making fun of anyone.

July is winter here, friend. =P
What if I (or anyone else, really), ya know...don't like these things? What if people actually prefer staying home reading a book / playing a game / watching TV / [insert other 'harmful NO LIFEY activity here']? I know I would have far more fun staying home playing games than any of those except maybe going to be beach (because beaches are indeed awesome)...but how's that a problem (or an addiction) in any way? People have different ways to have their fun and I get slightly...'angry' when others try to force down THEIR view of fun or 'living' down my throat.
No, I don't game 100+ hours a week, but probably would if I didn't have to work / study and if I had that many fun games to keep me busy for so long, something I doubt I would be able to keep for more than a week lol.
In any case, I know that you have noble intentions in posting this, and I also know that there are people that indeed are addicted to gaming (and other stuff) to a point it actually **** down their lives. But just because some people do play a lot doesn't mean either that they are 'addicted' or that they should 'enjoy being young' doing something else.
I do 'enjoy being young' playing my games, reading my manga and etc. Some other people 'enjoy being young' getting drunk daily and going to parties, others 'enjoy being young' camping, others (...). I just wanted that everyone understood that, actually, all of those people are 'having a life'. Enjoying their lifes. The way THEY want, not the way some people consider to be the 'right' way.
In any case, my best wishes for anyone who's going to the beach or anything else next july, I will be staying home with some hot tea, computers and games during my college break. And sorry for any possible grammar errors.
This community is all kinds of awesome.

I'm so addicted, living in Southern California Desert feels like i get to experience Thanalan in REAL LIFE! :O!!!!!!!!!

Right on AdvancedWind, people are ignorant thinking there's a 'right' way to live life rather than being happy and doin what they love best (Gaming included)... if you have a hobby u enjoy then do it just like everyone else, LoL@ people gettin 'addicted' to a hobby and something they enjoy... this threads so full of fail >.< A bad addictive hobby would be drugs, not gaming lmao enough said .... Oh noes my friend draws 100+ hours a week, he's addicted to drawing... time to get him some counseling... oh no w8... art is considered acceptable by the public... forgot... LoL *facepalm* ... such simplicity people will never understand due to ignorance can they always need outside sources to blame... hope to god jackdaniels isn't a parent cause we all know where that's coming from and going... >.> ... *sigh* People and thier need to complicate everything cause they fail... bye people... have fun with this lmfao

Seriously, I think the point is other people don't do things for 100 hours a week. You're free to go on pretending that sitting in a room on your own for upwards of 4 full days a week is the same as bettering yourself through a hobby that is also likely to improve your physical health, whilst gaming will pretty much turn you into a withered husk.Right on AdvancedWind, people are ignorant thinking there's a 'right' way to live life rather than being happy and doin what they love best (Gaming included)... if you have a hobby u enjoy then do it just like everyone else, LoL@ people gettin 'addicted' to a hobby and something they enjoy... this threads so full of fail >.< A bad addictive hobby would be drugs, not gaming lmao enough said .... A) But it's sort of true, lol.Wow ok so firstly I can not believe the negative feedback this thread is getting. In the OP I suggested some examples of things one could do instead of gaming, I wasn't insisting that one with a gaming addiction should do these things in stead. There are plenty of things one could do that I didn't list off such as reading, or playing board games with your family or whatever.
Maybe people who are slamming this thread should read the website before they post condescending know-it-all remarks saying that my OP is a)stupid because ffxiv is so bad u cant get addicted to it b)the op doesnt know what he's talking about c)theres no such thing as gaming addiction.
B) You do know, but it looks like you cannot deal / accept OTHER's views on the same subject.
C) No one said that in this thread as far as i've noticed.
Sure, one could say that liking sports in indeed better for your health than gaming. Still not reason enough to just keep hammering on those that do not like sports to have a life or keep pestering them about 'how gaming is harmful to your life, you should do something you do not care about or like at all because that's the right thing to do!'. Also, I'm pretty sure i'm not a withered husk, but thanks for your concern.Seriously, I think the point is other people don't do things for 100 hours a week.
