Skipped over the DL body and got my AF+1 body last night thank god, just the thought of wearing the DL body piece makes me cringe. What were they thinking when they designed those shoulders...

I like having different armor designs, but the 'trashcan' armor seems like novelty gear that more eccentric players would wear.

Kind of like Like Smough's or Catarina armor in Dark Souls.

Yeah, the trashcan is pretty lame, I wish they had a better mainstream heavy armor set...

Imagine if Darklight/Darksteel armor looked more like:

Huh?.. Most of the designs from that game have horns and spikes all over them.

While we're on topic, some of the Body Armor designs from the FFXII judges would also work well for heavy armor in this game. (we'd need more conventional helmets obviously)

Definitely this. SE has the ability to make some awesome looking heavy armour. Till then my WAR stays as is

I put in a suggestion to allow removal of helmets on these combined sets way back in Closed Beta 1.... I'm sad they didn't listen to it and it seems a lot of people are in agreement.

I can survive with the DL Cowl on my healing jobs because at least I get to see a portion of my cute little lalafell face xD

But I'm saving PLD for my last job to gear up because I'm going to get AF2 Body and Head before I'd even think about putting that trash can on ><

Shameless bumping of a thread that brings up the relevant yet ignored issue of Vanity slots, or at least overriden full body Armour. I mean look at the amount of complaints Bioware got about the Jedi robes in SWTOR... at least they got smart and offered a fully customizable alternative to buy through the gift shop, making money in fixing the issue for those who cared.

I've been keeping an eye on the Forums lately and it feels like SE isn't really getting involved with them or sharing some of their ideas of "smaller" matters such as these, which is a shame. That's the sort of little things that makes you look like you listen and care further than saving the game from a financial disaster point of view.

Call me vain, but I just completely skipped the DL Body/Helm and got my Valor Surcoat instead. That + the Hoplite Circlet works fine. I could stand the DL legs, so I got those though.
