HP bar is already toggle-able so just do the same thing with name. Actually it took me a while to understand what Bayohne was meaning with the HP bar because I never turned it on.

My thought on this is that we have the option to toggle our name on and off. Permanently move the bazaar icon, leve icon and repair icon to the status bar where your buffs show up. The leve icon shows up here already. Why do i need to see it twice. Just move everything else to that location then you do not have to worry about what happens when you toggle your name on and off.
That is not very helpful. Square is happy for any feedback and it is all the small changes that will add up to make a big change to this game.
On topic, just make it like FF XI.
I would suggest that, yes. The HP bar and the hide-own-character name options should be unified as a single option, so that it does not interfere with the view of other targets. Also, it would be beneficial if we could scale up/down the size of our GUI elements at will. That way we can scale up the size of our party list, and our own HP bar in the UI. This would make the player's name/HP bar on the character itself redundant.Hey everyone, can you give me some more details about the suggestion? Is it that you simply want an option to "hide own character name"? What about the HP bar for your character? Would that be hidden along with it, or would it need to be a separate thing? Lemme know and I'll compile your thoughts for the dev. team!
I actually think the whole screen is quite clutterd. I wouldn't mind being able to toggle the on screen map on and off either or at least make it a bit smaller. I feel there is just way to much going on, and not all of it is really needed.
Is it just me or does anyone else "feel" (i.e. no tangible evidence) that the Development Team has an unusually high level of flexibility when it comes to modifying the onscreen UI objects (e.g. icons, bars, etc). I get the feeling that the only reason the last set of modifications took as long as they did was because they needed to develop the text commands moreso than the actual physical image changes.
If so, that could be a reason why the Development Team is eager for our input in this area. It's low-hanging fruit.
Just a feeling.
I think your name and hp bar should be able to be separately toggled on and off. Also if you could toggle an Icon on for quest monsters when you have all names toggled off would be great too.
I'd like it if the names and hp bars of my character and all party members could be turned off, but the hp bars and names of everyone else could be turned on. This would make targeting with a mouse so much easier. The names of my character and my party members tend to get in the way when I'm trying to target an enemy. If I need to target my character or a party member, I can always click them in the party widget or click my character's own HP/MP/TP widget. For the time being I'm playing all-keyboard except for healing because I can find the enemy faster using tab or the arrow keys than I often can by clicking.
I'm all for implementing this only as a text command in order to get it out there sooner. Don't worry about a GUI for it.
I want to hide my name because it's always in the way when trying to select other things in front of me -_-
I actually had an easier time selecting before they added "selecting targets by names" =/

The more options, the better. I want to be able to see enemy HP bars and not PCs or my own. I dont want to see my name, but I want to see PC and NPC names. I want size options. Color options. In battle and not in battle options. MORE OPTIONS!!
