I looked at the user guide, and there was an option to change it from "Auto" to +1 or -1. +1 is actually the setting that displays the image exactly as it should be, while -1 pushes more off the edge of your screen. I set it to +1, and it was a huge difference in FFXIV. All my icons were pushed inward, and when I moved them back to the edge, the edge of the screen was as far as they would go- before, they would move right off the edge if I kept going. There is a definite border now, which is what I wanted, so I expect all of the normal things that sometimes show off screen will not be able to do so now.

Also, I wondered why I didn't notice this before on other games/TV... not sure the answer, but oh well. It's set correctly now.

OP, try using your TV's menu accessed at the TV to adjust this if you can. It will help.
Unfortunately older TVs didn't allow people to adjust overscan. With people using their TV now as a computer monitor they've had to give consumers access to this setting.

I've noticed a difference in the picture of my other games since turning this off. I've always used the in game settings you adjust the screen size. However, it made the outer portion of the picture small.

Glad you got help from this thread.
