So you want to fight it solo? This is a MMO so when you hit lv15 you started grouping up with other players to go through dungeons.
Shouting for help wouldn't hurt you know, if you have say 1 tank or 1 healer, you may have higher chance of the queue to move faster, you being the DPS is going to take longest so you could be waiting for quite some time. Maybe there are others wanting to do this but gave up waiting + there are lots of good people out there willing to help, but if they are Lv50 players they wouldn't check off all the existing dungeons, they will probably que in for the end level contents only, but if you can shout for help and those ppl have nothing else to do, I'm sure someone can help out.

That's all the advice I can give ><

If you exit the area and go to Camp drybone, you might get help by shouting for it. The Hydra battle is in the same zone so you might even luck out and get some high level people to assist.

The other day I myself joined a random Ifrit shout because I was in the area gathering mushrooms.

The dps is always a higher number in mmos than tanks and healers. I think there are 20% tanks 20% healers and the rest were dps.
As a dps you're going to sit in ques forever. You as a player need to talk to people make friends, join link shells and a free company
The Duty finder is cross server also so odds are people are doing any given quest.

You can do anything that isn't instanced while waiting in the DF queue. On other words, you can:
    - craft
    - gather
    - FATEs
    - side quests
    - any part of the story quests that aren't instanced
    - farm mob drops like leather, eggs etc.

    You can not do:
    - leves
    - guildhests
    - any story missions that make you enter an instanced battle

The long wait for DPS is frustrating, but at no point in the game are you forced to just twiddle your thumbs while you wait. You can also shout for a pre-made (aka a Party formed manually with others on your server) while in the DF queue. The DF queue will automatically cancel if you enter a party manually.

You can actually do Leves of any type, though if you're not finished when you enter the dungeon you will fail the Leve.

How? Last time I tried the DF queue, I was talking to a random NPC when the notice popped up saying the group was ready. It wouldn't let me acknowledge that and port to the instance because I was busy, but nor would it let me cancel out of or even advance the NPC dialog so that I could get un-busy. After a moment it kicked me from the group because I hadn't been able to acknowledge that I was ready.

I got back in the DF queue and the next time that notice popped up I had my character window open because I was changing some gear. It again wouldn't let me join the group because it considered that as being too busy, so it kicked me out of DF a second time.

The third time I tried, I just stood there doing absolutely nothing until the notice popped up, and that's the only way I finally got in.

If it didn't let you finish the NPC dialogue or close the interface window, then click 'Commence', it was a bug. Normally, you can close whatever you were doing and then Commence. (It may be a bit finicky on the PS3 since you can't just mouseclick whatever window you want, not sure.)

This is correct. When he says fail, he means you will have to use another allowance to retry once you leave the dungeon.

I'm sorry your having such issues... If you are using the PS3, you might need to reselect your NPC Dialog/Character window with the select button, and cancel out of it.

I could understand the first part if it popped in the middle of a cutscene NPC dialog though.
