Guild Housing for 500+ Members

I have a lot of concerns as to how housing is going to work, and sadly Yoshi P has been pretty quiet about all of it.

My guild is nearing 500 players. Our guild-specific website is receiving about 20 applications per day. Guild housing sounds like a great idea, but we know there aren't going to be 515 lots of land. And should Square ever consider upgrading the size (and please heaven do that right now we are dying with this limit and regulating two guilds is impossible without trusted leadership)

Can individual players purchase housing, or is it just a "gateway" to a house like the inn (or FFXI's housing) and all the other buildings are just convenient boosts/Gold Saucer games to the players to make it look pretty? I'm really worried that it's just going to be a race to see who can get what house and that a lot of people will feel left out of it.

I genuinely hope that an admin can answer this.

The way I see it is you get 1 house for everyone in FC to meet and spend time. You also have to ask yourself, are all 500 on at once? I highly doubt even half will be so it's very unlikely that all will be crowded in the house at once. If so it'd be a nice challenge to fit everyone in but in large houses it must be possible, they look fairly big. I never really understood the attraction of 500 people in one FC myself, that's just inviting the chance for too many people trying to communicate at once and making it a nightmare to talk. But that's just my view.

They've pretty much already addressed this. FC housing will be shared. It will be purchased and maintained by the FC leader and anyone in the FC can enter this house. This is what is coming in 2.1.

Later on, individual housing will be added where individual players can buy plots of land which will be separate from FC housing. They also mentioned that there will be multiple instances of the housing zones added as demand goes up. I would assume this will be the same for FC housing but on a smaller scale since there are far less FCs than individual players.

FC housing plots in general will also be much bigger plots of land compared to individual housing.
