    SE, can you get rid of heal tagging?

    That's right! Heal tagging. Every once in awhile on my SCH (since threat gen is obviously much less than WHM) I like to run around in level 30 and lower areas healing people. Mostly for a change of pace. I have noticed if they aggro something and I have regen up (which is why I go SCH) I tag the monster attacking them. I can honestly say (from my own experience) that the rewards are less if I tag it and they kill it (for them since I used to go after tagged targets for quests when too many were farming them).

    Yes, if you heal a target with hate you'll pull hate yourself. This surprises you because...?

    as i said i "tag" the target... im not talking about hate. You know what tag means right? When the color changes from orange to red. I shouldn't tag by healing. In NO MMO I have played could I tag a target in such a way. If I pull hate while PLing someone the color should stay orange until it is attacked, and only by being hit should a mob be tagged.

    Its working just fine. Think about 'tagging'. It's done by generation of enmity to a target first when no previous value existed. If a mob is simply chasing a player of its own aggro parameters then it's still technically available to any direct enmity 'tagging'. Now you come allow and heal the mob's current target which generates enmity with the mob. No other value existed and now you have the tag.

    i dont mind it hitting me but i should NOT have "claimed" the target... play any other MMO where once you tag a target no one but you and your party memebers can hit that target. That should only happen when the target is hit... not me healing the target of the monster. Reason being it enables me to steal targets from other players if they dont get the chance to tag it first and as a healer its not something cure of physick should do

    here's a good example... A group of RMTs goes around hitting people with regen and cure not to be nice but to guarantee when a particular monster spawns they tag that target. It's bad enough they exist but to start that to claim targets is insane. To claim a target any other way than to be the first to hit it, proves there are major flaws to the claiming mechanics. Enmity is one thing but to claim a target by healing is a broken mechanic. If you think otherwise this is obviously your first MMO, and you're obviously idiots.

    a broken mechanic is a broken mechanic and should not be accepted... If I were playing wow or any other mmo and repoted it to a GM i would see it fixed within a week. Not ignored like it is here.

    1) That's laughable on so many levels. GM's are customer service, the time it would take for some issue like this to filter from customer service up to people who actually fix it would be more than a week by itself.

    2) The mechanic is obviously not broken in the bugged sense, any enmity generating moves tag mobs, including skills like flash. Having heals tag them is not such a stretch. A change like this would be a balance one, not a bug fix, which makes it even less likely that any MMO would fix it within a week as you claim.

    In no MMO that i have played (and i played alot) has it tagged a mob... they remained untagged til hit... so yes it is a broken mechanic...
