Why doesn't SE just spin up fake RMT sites, do a few baited shouts,

Then the instance a player buys gil and you go into the game for the trade, abort the trade and BAN them, refund their money.

If it's legal for RMT to sel gil, don't see how it's illegal to fake being an RMT.

They would accomplish more, and quicker just by going to those places where bots frequent, observing for a few moments to see who is a bot, locking those accounts then and there to have their trade history researched, and then proceeding to the next spot. RMT, even if a portion comes from hacked accounts, cannot continue working without an army of bots generating more money and materials for them to sell so that they can then hack those accounts. Eventually the supply would dry up or RMT would need to seek out less efficient means. Once it stops being profitable, RMT will go to another game.

I'm with Taeyeon on this. They would be falsely advertising, and it IS entrapment and fraud and they could be sued. Not to mention wrong on too many levels. May sound like a decent idea but also illegal.

"Entrapment" in the legal sense only applies to Law Enforcement. I believe the term you are looking for is "Bait and Switch" and that I dont think is technically illegal just a form of bad business.
