What we do in life.... Echoes in eternity
Just checked the market on my server, out of curiosity. There is not one single "white" accessory in any category.
So if someone shows up in a DF group without them, try not to be too judgmental. On my server we don't even know they exist. Just saying.
Ahh, I understand better what you're saying now. Unfortunately, SE has not separated the regular items from HQ ones in the Market Boards categories or subsequent listings of items. They are all listed together under each item's individual page. Meaning, click on each of the items you are interested in and scroll through the list of ones currently available for sale. Scattered among the regular ones will be the HQ (usually near the bottom of the list, as they tend to be higher priced than the normal quality versions). If you are still only seeing normal grey ones, then you can assume that there is no HQ currently available. You have to pull up the actual sale list per item to see these, though.
I would suggest clicking on several crafting material listings to see what I'm talking about. Most low-level materials have a multitude of items currently for sale in both qualities, and you can better understand what to look for in the accessory listings (which may not have what you are currently seeking).
Cleansing breaths......;pBecause the gear drops in Wanderer's Palace are so terrible, that they're not worth using so you should just avoid them until you have all the tomes you need.
Seriously, who died and made you god of this game? Yeah, you may not like people using gear that you don't like in a dungeon, but guess what, it's not your character, not your choice, not your place to tell others what they have to do, and that there's "no excuse" for something. Please get over yourself.
FYI, you used the word elitist wrong.
The "elitist" comment was obvious sarcasm. Does not look as if he is playing God, but just offering a help post, one that a number of us are finding very informative. If he missed something, its all good as the basic information is worthy of note for newer players.
Its good that you've added that in.
Ok, this is meant for starters. So.. what's an AF?! O_o
AF is gear that will be given u by class quests (lv45-50 ones) for "FREE".
OP did really good post for newby ppl's through there already was similar threads.
1 Get AF and pre relic weapon (can mend it with materia that u will use in quest)
2 GO and DO 20 CM runs
3 buy few DL , kill Ifrit (until desired weapon drop ) Can kill only 1ce if have Gil to purchase Giantsgall weapon (legacy server only)
4 20 CM again
5 start relic quest and progress to garuda
6 start AK & kill Garuda
7 buy last pieces DL if needed still & kill Titan (also finishes relic)
There is one thing I would like to say. You in no way need DL gear before you run AK. You don't need to run Ifrit HM before you run AK. AK is easy in AF gear, and this was as a healer. In fact, the gear that drops in AK is worse than DL, so it makes no sense to tell people they need DL before they attempt AK.

AF is a term from FFXI, Artifact gear, there are 3 teirs of AF in FFXI as well, Fighters, Warriors and lastly Ravagers, relic great axe in FFXI is Bravura as well. JSE (job specific equipment) is gained through quests and dungeon progression to each respective teir. FFXIV hasn't introduced Ravagers to my knowledge yet? I like the nostalgic terminology <3

Well there is sense , since peoples doing AK not for gear , or other purposes , peoples doing AK for Myth pts to upgrade relic weapon , to purchase relic gear .So doing AK with job that already geared just saves time to yourself and everyone else .There is one thing I would like to say. You in no way need DL gear before you run AK. You don't need to run Ifrit HM before you run AK. AK is easy in AF gear, and this was as a healer. In fact, the gear that drops in AK is worse than DL, so it makes no sense to tell people they need DL before they attempt AK.
I pretty much doing AK 50/50 premade group and DF , sometimes even DF group outbeat premade one when other 3 members procs also in DL+ relic or primal . SO... what was my point - heavy geared AK run 25 min max , AF wearing group about 50+ to 60 min .
Indeed. A careful reading of my OP will show that I specifically state that AK can be run in just AF if everyone in the party is similarly geared with proper accessories. As you say, the gear in AK is worse than DL; by the time you've done all of the dungeons leading up to it at least once, you should have (or be very close to having) enough Tomes to buy one piece of DL. In that case, why would you not buy one? This isn't an instance of saying "don't run AK without DL." It's saying, "You have the ability to buy one or two DL now, do it." The reasoning behind this I will reiterate: Having a piece or two of DL when walking into AK for the first time will pick up potential slack brought by undergeared players, and it will stave off potential grief from people whose expectations for AK DF-groups are too high.
