Sorry for my sarcastic reply. But yes, Selling virtual currency for real life money is illegal and goes against the TOS and EULA we ALL agree to upon playing the game. I don't fault you for not reading it, no one does. But it is there.

There is no law in any country that i know of that makes it illegal to purchase virtual currency with real currency. There is a rule against it in the TOS. Illegal, and breaking a TOS are two separate things. Lol. Also, to people comparing Gil sellers to drug dealers? Just lmao.

Um, have you seen gil in game? All I see is a number. A number is not IP. You might claim the Allergan pieces as IP, but really, that's copyright. I do not see any IP in 1,2,3,4, etc.

Selling gil is a violation of the ToS, that is all and you can get your account banned. SE has that right as you have violated the agreement with them.

No one is guilty of anything if they do this, unless you live in Eorzea and then all bets are off. BTW, I haven't found the jail in Eorzea yet...

But they can lose the privilege of using SE's service.

RMT is not illegal. Being against the ToS is not the same thing as being illegal by the law of the state.

And chinese RMT do not have other options, it isn't like they are Americans who actually have opportunities. If they don't play the whole time they are awake, they won't have a meal or a place to sleep at night. You need to educate yourself before saying things like this.
