Why would you do Garuda 10+ times to get your weapon instead of Ifrit? Do you see how assinine this conversation is?
I'm not grinding Titan for gear. I didn't grind Garuda for gear. I didn't gind Ifrit for gear. Did I have to? No. Could I if I wanted to? Yes.
Are the drops required? No.
Are the drops nice to have? Yes.

That is it. The Primal fights aren't designed to drop gear you absolutely need, they serve other purposes. Their drops are just a bonus you get for completion.

Because Garuda drops a two handed staff vs a one handler like Ifrit(also higher Ilevel). Because you need something better than a level 44 weapon for Titan.

It's just Titan that has the useless drops, which is why I made this thread. Garuda's drops serve the purposes of gearing for Titan, Titan's drops are for looks.

Titans drops serve the purpose for alternate jobs... how many times do I have to say this. I'm done with this convo. It is pointless and will go nowhere. You obviously cannot wrap your head around the fact that people level more than 1 job in this game and that the primal weapons are nice to haves and are by no means required. There are equal alternatives that can be purchased / crafted.

I mean some look cool, the shield is the only primal shield. But than you get your relic and turn 1 drops the shield as well.
The Whm staff is cool, almost very druid like.

i get it. and i see his point.
he's saying that the drops are not meant to be grinded for, it is kinda pointless to grind for shield of crags as a paladin when you just get a holy shield a few minutes/hours later. it is better to "greed" on these bosses rather than "need" so someone else who isn't using the class/job you are using might get it so they have a head start gear wise once they reach level 50 for that job the weapon that dropped needs.

for instance, i have the summoner weapon "ifrit's grimore" from an ifrit run a while ago. i do not have that job, but if i were to level summoner to 50, i would immediately have high level gear so i don't have to waste time grinding for one and can focus on getting darklight gear instead.

But unless you don't have the job there, they will need on it, because it's for looks. It's not for grinding out gear, but a good item would be nice, like a ring.
Even doing BC the shield dropped, we had people in the group that have pld as a 2'd/3'd 50, but the pld in the group with +1 relic could and did need, for looks.
Like I was saying, if you want a weapon for a alt, Garuda is 5x easier and faster to do. I have a whole set of weapons from her.
The only reason I could see to kill Titan for a alt would be for the shield, seeing how WP is the only other level 50 zone before BC that drops one. But you know the pld will need on it, so bring a War. >_>

I farm Titan/Garuda HM for myth and alt classes. Primal weapons looks cool enough anyway and also for collection.

These weapons can all be converted into good materia, so not useless. If my garuda/ifrit weapon is capped white, and that weapon drops on titan..guess what i just got myself a hopefully good materia

So thats about the only reason to want that weapon, aside from aesthetics, is to convert my older primal weapon into a hopefully awesome materia.
