    The hours I've spent wandering over mountains in WoW and Rift and Aion and TERA with only "I wonder if I can get up there" as my motivation would say otherwise. It's largely inspired by that thought, and also in part inspired by the irritation of bumping into an invisible wall when trying to go somewhere very clearly visible. Oh, and not being able to go in water - that too. But, y'know, thanks for judging me and stuff.

    I'm being realistic here. You can want less invisible walls.. that is fine. The harsh reality is that it won't happen. It's not as simple as just changing stats on an ability for balancing or changing a tooltip to make it accurate. To allow exploration to the degree that you want would take serious coding, quality testing and development time. Not to mention possibly more resources to generate the environment because now you CAN go to that place that was likely just a back drop before.

    It would have been nice if it was less restrictive, but it's not going to change. In Vanguard I used to climb around just to see what I saw... I understand where you are coming from.. even though your initial post was complaining because you couldn't go from point A to point C without going through point B.

    Only SE can say that and have it ring with any level of truth. It's not impossible, and that's all that really matters. Even if it were something saved for a big patch or expansion, it would be well worth it to me. There's so much blank space on each zone map that could be filled in - even just half of it would give the world so much more beauty and depth rather than just being a series of meta-tunnels funneling you from one point to another.

    And yes, I complained about not being able to run up a very low hill to get to a place that is open to players. It was the straw that broke the camel's back, to borrow an overused phrase; just one invisible wall too much, and so I took that moment and used it to spur a post. The spirit of the argument remains the same.
