Why you should buy the PS3 version and not the PC version of this game

I have both the PS3 and PC versions of this game and have played the game somewhat on both. Here is why I feel you should definitely purchase only the PS3 version and not the PC version.
Of course the #1 reason is the size of the viewing screen. The game sure looks nicer on a 46" TV than a small monitor.

#2-The chat text from NPCs on the PC monitor is so small it will give you eyestrain to try to read the chat text. On the large TV the chat text is easy to read and more enjoyable.

#3- Clicking on chat text many times with a mouse on the PC version will definitely strain your wrist muscles. With the PS3 you use a PS3 controller and there is no strain at all, just tap a button for constant chat from a NPC.

#4-The graphics on the PS3 version is just as nice on my TV as on my PC version. So you will not be missing out on any visual beauty

Graphically there is a huge difference between pc on max settings and ps3. The frame rate is choppy on ps3 also.

Huh no thanks? How about you list some of the downsides too, and not just the upsides?

1- Not everyone is comfortable playing a MMORPG with a controller.
2- Controller -> Keyboard swap everytime you have to chat requires dropping everything you're doing.
3- No integrated voice chat! Number 2 is twice as true.
4- Computer monitors can be pretty damn big, mine is 25 inches and it's on the small size nowadays.
5- PC version graphics can and will improve (notably when the PS4 version comes out); PS3 specs are hardlocked where they are.
6- PC version supports modding and parsers.
7- You can't play FFXIV and watch TV at the same time unless you have 2 TVs... or play on the PC and use your TV for that. :P

TL;DR: PS3 version isn't shittier but it's not better, either.

Buy whatever fits YOUR style. Not what others tell you to.

    Logic there is flawed.
1 you can play the PC version on a hd tv using hdmi.
2 graphics look better on the PC version.
3 with a good PC you will actually get to see more on your screen especially the behemoth and Odin fates where a ps3 fails as you don't get to see fate mobs that well on ps3.
4 you can actually customise your ui to make certain things bigger on both the ps3 and PC so if text is too small you can enlarge it.
5 you can use a controller on the PC so no need to use keyboard and mouse to play the game.
6 you can play in full 1080p on a PC with good setup instead of only 720p.
7 the biggest is you can take screenshots in cutscenes on the PC using software like fraps.

On side note ps3 is good if you don't have a fairly good PC to run the game or if you can't afford or have a PC. And yes I have played game on both ps3 and PC.

My two roommates have it for PC, and I have it for the PS3. It's a personal preference, I'm a console gamer and I figure I'll just upgrade to the PS4 version when it's released. I have the controller keypad attachment for my PS3 so typing isn't a problem.

One note, the PS3 version does take a good bit for the extra characters to pop up especially at a big fate fight or dungeon. But since it's only a month away from the PS4 coming, there's no reason for me to get the PC version. Also, the my roommates bought the last two store PC copies of the game so it all worked out lol.

I'm a console player at heart so I'll stick with that. However, I don't think there is a reason you should choose it over the PC version. There are many aspects of a PC that make playing an mmo easier or more enjoyable in my experience.

While im all for a bigger screen, 90" is insanely excessive lol. My friend thought it would be cool to buy a 72" tv for his apartment and it made games down right unplayable, we had to stand in his kitchen for it to look halfway decent.

I never understood the graphics argument. I'm not on an HD screen at it looks visually amazing, so I would assume it looks better whether you're on 720 HD or 1080 HD. Also, why does that even matter? The only thing that is a downside to not being on an HD screen is that the text is hard to read and everything is squished since my widescreen isn't apparently widescreen enough, lol but honestly, I can deal. /shrug

Regardless, it really is personal preference and/or funds (I can't afford to buy a PS4 nor a new PC, so PS3 it is). People really need to stop knocking on the PS3 and vice versa. Both have their pros and cons and everyone has their preference. This is my first MMO and I'm using a controller and I'm pretty a-okay with it, I don't mind that I don't have 1080p graphics because honestly, it looks amazing even in non-HD terms, so I could really care less on how many pixels I get to see.

Although I have to disagree, the framerate isn't choppy at all on the PS3. At least, not on mine. Any time it does is because my internet is lagging.

    But to each their own!

i never understand why people say, oh i play consoles because it can use bigger tvs... i dont understand why they dont know why that you can use a big tv on a pc..., should i also add you can run very very high resolutions on a pc and use very high resolutions screens if you wanted to, you can use 4 k screens to play games on a pc.

simply just idiots, if you think you MUST have a pc in a corner room tucked away using a small screen, thats your fault, you can easily sit a pc rig in your living room and use a big TV if you wanted to, whats stopping you? your wife/husband or parents?, well thats a problem on your end of the matter on a personal side, dont reflect it on a logical sense
