Bloody hell, that's a lot to work with. Seeing the Adventurers' Guild was established by a mercenary officer to bring his companions together to aid the realm of Eorzea, essentially being sellswords, I can definitely see something gong in that direction.

Would anyone have an translation for 'mercenary' into Roegadyn?

I have to admit I like the Middle High German word abenteuer taken from aventiure. While it isn't Old High German, I have no qualms trying to modify this into Roegadyn for my purposes. I'm no loremonger and definitely not learned in linguistics, but I see it as an evolution of the language from Old High to Middle High, and can't find argument to believe in a fantasy setting that it could easily translate into Roegadyn for this purpose. I'd think if this weren't desirable the Dev team would have provided a more complete Roegadyn dictionary, but this would be beyond the scope of this game, and therefore I can't see any reasons to reject taking this direction. A lot of words to make me sound smart, though I'm not, so...

For instance, concerning the Roegadyn Dictionary provided, it is said, 'The term “known” is used here because many Roegadyn words have been forgotten after generations of disuse, with only popular terms being passed down through names. Every so often, however, a new (or should I say old) word is rediscovered in an ancient tome and added to the list for further generations to use (or ignore).' (source)

I'll look into modifying abenteuer into Roegadyn. Any halp would be appreciated, since this isn't my forte, but I'll definitely be looking into this.

    Thanks all.
