Suggestion - Mark closes mark window

As it stands, when playing with a controller, I can press "X on a target to bring up the menu, choose "mark", and then designate which mark goes on the target. When that is done, I'm still in the window with all the marks, and have to close it out, move to another target and open it again.

It would be far easier if the mark window closed after a mark is designated, that way a tank using a controller can quickly flip to the next enemies and do it again.

Another way of improving marking on controller might be something where the cursors cycle enemies automatically upon designating marks, while the mark window stays open until you close it.

Honestly if you are marking targets the easiest thing to do would be to create some macros to it, quicker and easier.

Well, the idea is to make it quicker/easier to do it with a controller. Unless one is mapping the macros to the cross hotbar (which I'm only guessing is possible), that wouldn't really help. In that case though, one would also waste several spaces to put them in. Closing the window after selection would be a far simpler solution.

Technically - if you pop up the signs menu, hit select (to move to another UI component), circle to deselect, you can then move the soft targeting cursor to the next object, hit select to focus onto the signs menu again, and place the next mark.

Also - you can hold either L2 or R2 and use the L1 (shift target left) and R1 (shift target right) buttons to change your anchor target (obviously only on enemies), which will also let you quickly shift from enemy to enemy to mark them. This solution is of note as your suggestion would break this functionality and make it the overly complicated method, while it is technically what you are requesting with the exception of it being automatic.

Using soft target to mark would probably be best suited to cross hotbar shortcuts for optimal speed (and this is possible).

I play with the controller, I find it much faster on the hotbar than open up a separate window then find it. But each to there own, but I assume the reason you wouldn't want that is as hale dire said, you can select multiple enemies and target multiple enemies with the window open.

Thanks for the heads up. The first suggestion is a bit clumsy, to hit select, then circle to deselct, then move soft target, but it comes closer to achieving what I'm looking to do, only in a different way; it lets you leave the menu open while cycling characters. It's even more of a process than closing the window though, unfortunately, with much more room for clumsiness/error.

What did actually help me though, is the L2+R2 method, which I was not aware of. It's still not ideal, but it's far better than what I've been doing. It's definitely made things much faster. It would be nice if there were some way to let one use the d-pad to select, but this works too. Thanks.
