Were you turned down to tank cause you were gear checked OP? Be honest now...
I like how in this game people get upset over wipes, seriously people its a game, not a ego scratching post...
I bet very few of you go up to people in real life and speak like that to their faces and we all know why. You'd take a quick dirt nap...
Sorry but if I want people to have full DL deal with it. I want mt run go go better. Plus I see people with DL put more time in the game and to me that's what I like.
Afaik, devs talked about implementing a Combat rating system anytime "soon".
^This.No. When I see people get killed by stupid, easily dodgeable shit, I get pissed off. Call me elitist if you want; I'm there to get my progression done and get my gear, not to watch you be a ditz for four hours and giggle about it at my expense. Believe me when we say that you are the only one laughing at your mistakes (in most situations)
If you want to avoid the gear checks and crap, then you should be an a progression FC where you can learn and progress where people will hold your hand and help you up when you screw up. PUGs are there to get their shit done with people who have the gear and have done it before.

OP and people who think that "gear check" is people being elitist haven't done Titan 200 times and failed because DPS cant burn the heart down quick enough. Once you have done that and you are frustrated for not progressing, you as well will be asking people to gear up properly... Trust me, it happens to all of us, even the nicest ones.
There is a little Monkey in all of us....
Go to the park. Find a bunch of people playing football or something, join them and then just sit around on the field. Tell me how long it took before they told you to sod off and whether or not they had some nice words for you.
I'm pretty damn sure you'd be kicked of the field before you know it and the general treatment wouldn't be any better than ingame.
It's not just elitists. The opposite side is just as bad, with players entering dungeons unprepared and undergeared because they know people can't do crap about it anyway and if you're lucky enough the rest actually is good enough to pull your deadweight ass through it.
It's not so much the fact that you need certain gear for certain fights, but more the way people 'say' it .. There's no reason to immediately go shouting noob this and noob that to someone who isn't geared, because there's actually nothing in the game about it. Not many people will Google for minimum requirements of a dungeon before signing up for one, nor should they have to do so.OP and people who think that "gear check" is people being elitist haven't done Titan 200 times and failed because DPS cant burn the heart down quick enough. Also, your signature still rocks, even if it's still an ape rather than a monkey
Edit: Also, I'm not saying you do it that way, but it seems the majority of people do...
That's really sad... for my Free Company I invite a lot of new/low level players to give them an outlet for help. Something i wish I had in my first few levels of the game. I don't really understand why it makes such a difference to have experienced or high level players in a Free Company. If you invite new/low level players and build a good standing with them they'll be high level/experienced eventually and they'll remember your kindness and you are able to build a community of friendly players. Rather then surrounding yourself with a bunch of jerks that feel privileged to be apart of an Elitist douchegroup. :/
