As a casual player, I realize I dread every dungeon in the story...

When I DO get to a dungeon and use the DF to get a party (thankfully I never need to wait since I'm a Tank), there is always someone in the group who knows what to do at each new boss. So we never wipe or fail (so far). This is taking a lot of the charm and fun out of doing these dungeons for the first time...

Not to break the magic or anything, but almost every story dungeon boss after level 50 or so operates very much the same. Few gimmicks will throw you off.
You don't need to stop and explain you're new. And while I don't advise this; you also do not need to read someones explanations. You have the option to ignore chat entirely. It's not like story dungeons are complex and require planning.

I kind of envy you, OP, because less than half my runs have people that know exactly what to do. Though I understand the appeal of going in blind, which I have done a few times. Nothing is more satisfying than figuring out a winning strategy on a boss yourself (which happened to me recently when I did Gubal the first time). Still though, I think it's just luck of the draw. You'll eventually get a run you have no idea what to do. And if you REALLY want to go blind, there's Command Missions (though they come with their own unique challenges).

I dread story duties because I haven't done them and worry about people raging at me due to inexperience when all they want is a quick run without "having to carry a noob". It's a surprisingly stressful experience.

Same. Mine is more due to the pettiness of 70% of the player base though. Only friend I loved to run dungeons with left the game, sadly. Wish we could skip them. I would do without that exp or items.

Devs won't change the game for you, so you'll have to make a choice: suck it up and keep playing or find another game ( try GW2, or BDO, they don't have mandatory dungeons).
