My first FF was 6 on the SNES. This was back in like.... later half of the 90s, probably leading into the new millenium. However, my first Square RPG was actually unrelated to the FF series (Chrono Trigger). I think the only time I ever got to play either was whenever I was allowed to get rentals (and they usually had other people's save files on them).

I read a lot about FF7 in Game Magazines, and became attracted to the music through MIDIs (though I didn't like One Winged Angel then and still don't), as well as developed a sort of childhood crush on Tifa (though it never went beyond PG rating-stuff). Would not get back into FF until high school, where I met the Totemas Famfrit & Adrammalech via FFTA and began having nightmares once I got to the end of Crystal Chronicles (due to what happened with Raem). Didn't get back into FF until after high school, which was where I played 11 and 12. Got into 11 during ToAU (pre-Salvage era), quit near the beginning of WoTG. Community was said to be high-rate, but it lied. It only served to reinforce what I learned later in WoW (which I played AFTER 11 - and only out of vain curiosity).

In 12, I got attached to Vaan more than I did any other character (him and Balthier). After that, a lot of just standing by the sidelines while 13's drama went on (which I have not played to this day), and now I'm here. And I really dig what they've done with this game.
