I have played all the main series 1-14, X-2, XIII-2, the DS game of XII, Dirge of Cerberus, and Tactics. I was never able to play FF Legends or FF Mystic Quest, none of the other versions of tactics, and I still have not played Crisis Core. I love single player RPG games, so the mmo versions I play just for the story and not to play endgame.

My top 5, in order, are FFV, FFIV & FFVI (tied), FFVII, and FFIX. Honorable mention to FFVIII and FFX.

I played 5,6,7,10 for a total of probably 3 hours over the years. They sucked. I'm a XIV fan not an FF fan. Been hooked since alpha 2010.

If you only played them for 3 hours, then you aren't in a position to say whether they sucked or not because in 3 hours you don't even see a small portion of the game/story. That's like watching a trailer for the 2nd and 3rd star wars movies and then deciding the movies suck and then declaring entire series of star wars movies suck as well based on watching 2 short trailers. Not exactly a smart way to approach things...

Have always loved the series, played all of them except 11 (wish i did though!). Lost interest in the series when I played FF13 and when FF14 1.0 came out! Renewed interest after trying out FF13-2, watched videos of FFXV, and after playing this! The game's not perfect and has a lot to work on, but I am really enjoying myself and definitely feel optimistic about the future of the game.

Oh and even though FFT is not considered to be part of the main series, it definitely is my favourite.

Big fan of the series, RPGS and MMOS. Played since FF1 all the way up to FFXIV. Dabbled in FFXI for a bit back in the day, but don't think I ever made it past level 40. I also play a lot of MMOs, so I come from both backgrounds.

I have loved FF since IV. Simple, engaging, and full of wonderful story and characters. I followed it from there. I (Greatest last project ever!), II, III (JOBS!), V (MORE JOBS!), VI, VII (All but BC), VIII (heck with haters, I love VIII!), IX, X and X-2 (HAHAHAHA!), XI (JOBS ONLINE! First MMO, something I will remember always). XII (Low point for me), and XIII and XIII-2 (Looking forward to XIII-LR).

Sad to say I missed 1.0 (BURN THE NON-LEGACY!), but only because PS3 never got it, and no PC money. Once I heard about Eorzea's impending Calamity, I caught up on the story, and waited. I am happy to have enjoyed the new story, and now working on end game, and having a grand time. I wish that there were more options, Amdapor gets old, but that will change in time, and I am patient.

In short, love FF, love this, and love grinding the same thing for hours apparently. Least for now. I will love what they give me! Enough people yell for me. I'll give them space, and just have my fun ^.^

I've played since FFI was released on the NES.

Finished every core FF game except:

    FFIII (very close to finishing)
    &
FFXI (finished everything up to Abyssea)

I also have a collection of the original Japanese core FF games.

If you started because you're a FF fan, what games have you played and enjoyed the most?
Favorites are FFVI, FFXII, and FF Tactics

How is this game fitting up against the rest of the series for you?
1.0 Eorzea seemed like a real fantasy world (if not FF enough). But ARR doesn't. Don't get me wrong, The world is very captivating, there is lots to do, interesting characters and storyline, but it seems like Eorzea gets a bit lost in all the fanfare. With all the FFXI imported mobs, races, etc.. it just seems like it's a mixture of other FF games rather than it's own animal. Also, they really bastardized the Summoner Job, which is an iconic FF component.

I think the stated goal of ARR-as-a-FF theme-park ended up being a far more literal direction than I expected. Everything is hyper-streamlined, pre-packaged, and the game is full of gaudy trinkets and flashy props.

In summary: ARR is primarily and overtly a GAME, and it feels like a GAME -- often at the expense of the immersive experience. There isn't much that comes across as organic or natural in it. It's very flashy and impressive at first glance, but the mechanics, conveniences, and trinkets (vertical item stats, fast level progression, instant teleporting/DF, glowing weapons, volume of mounts and minions, etc. etc.) tend to detract from any depth or authenticity the game may have.

I'm having fun with it for now, but I'm not sure how sustainable this approach is.

I had FF1 for NES shortly after it came to US. I didn't really play it much until several years later, when I fell in love with FF3 on SNES (6 JP)

Pretty much been hooked, and played virtually every title since. The only titles I never finished were 13 and 13-2, since I admittedly did not like them. I got very close, but didn't care enough to finish them off.

My favorites are most definitely 6, 7 and 9.

The first one I ever completed was FF4 (FF2 on SNES in NA), then FF6 (FF3 NA), FF1, then pretty much played the series progressively from there.

I played FF11 because it was an FF game, not because it was an MMO. I play FF14 for the same reason. The interaction with people is nice, but the story and how the game plays and feels like a FF title comes first and foremost for me.

My first Final Fantasy experience started out with VIII... in Spanish. Picked it up at an used game story and didn't check the back of the box enough apparently, because I don't know how that detail flew over my head. Naturally, I didn't know a damned bit of Spanish, but I somehow stumbled through the game and finished it. I would then pick up IX and enjoy that, although it was quite different. I was used to sequels containing the same characters, not having separate universes. After IX, I began backtracking a bit. I remember Anthologies being released, so I got to enjoy IV and V. Afterwards Origins came with I and II. Then I'd eventually pick up VI and VII until I finally caught up and began working through all the sequels in the actual order you count. I actually skipped XI, though. I was young and wasn't enamored with the idea of begging my parents to pay a monthly fee, seeing as they were stingy enough with regular games.

Other than that, I've happily enjoyed spinoffs, direct sequels and remakes occasionally such as Tactics (Advance (2)), Crystal Chronicles, X-2, XIII-2 and so on. I suppose being a fan is a bit of an understatement. xD And yes, I do enjoy the various references to older Final Fantasy games. I might've hated II, but I smiled a bit when I heard its battle theme remixed during some main story quests.
