    Japan Server Latency

I'm from Australia and currently playing on NA server and like you all know, the aoe delay is horrible (I'm getting 300+ ms), I ping to Japan server and i got around 150ms. If anyone from Australia, can you tell me how thing on your end? Im planning to move soon if it lessen the aoe delay...

If you get 150ms to the Japan SE IP then that's probably what you'll get ingame. Not sure what you're looking for here.

No one else can tell you how it will go, your latency is dependent on your ISP.

The actual server IP for Tonberry is here if you want to make sure: 124.150.157.35

You can check your latency by opening the Resource Monitor, going to the Network tab, and then checking the "ffxiv.exe" image. The latency will be listed in the TCP connections section.

If you are with Telstra Bigpond or Optus then you will likely need to use a tunneling service such as WTFFast. This is because Telstra routes Square Enix traffic through Singapore/China, and Optus routes Square Enix traffic through America. iiNet, Internode, TPG, etc, route Square Enix traffic directly to Japan.

You will ideally be getting 100-180ms on an optimal connection depending on your location.

In my resource monitor --> TCP, there are 2 FFXIV.exe with similar ms. Do they add up 300+300? or just one figure

The FFXIV.exe that is transmitting the most traffic is your connection to the game world.

The Resource Monitor is the most accurate way to know your ping since it's actually pinging the server you're currently on, not just the 'global' Japanese server.

If you're with TPG, iiNet or Internode you'll have some lesser ping to the JP servers. Internode has a direct fiber link to Japan and I get about 160~180 PING with no tunnels used; With a tunnel I get 190~210.
Although if you're not with them you can use a tunnel to get better PING, some people I know have reported their pings went from as high as 280 to 190 with a tunnel.

If you live in a more major city or something, such as Sydney and are with Internode/iiNet you'll probably get much better PING than I have. A guild member of mine uses Internode and lives there and gets 120 ping, no tunnels used.

I am pinging 114ms to tonberry and I am using the regedit latency fix, I can comfortably avoid all the AOEs in titan HM, so no problem at all.

    Under TCP I get 150-160ms.
WTFast only shaves 10ms off that.
