Privacy Mode for Player Search

Maybe I'm wrong, but are gil-sellers getting my name by searching for my character or do they just find me randomly in a crowd? If it is the former, can we get a "Show Offline" button or something so they can't find us?

They use the player search function, I've logged in in an inn room lol. and still got a pm from a gil seller.

but a Do not display in player search option, would be nice.

Set your search to busy. Bad thing is you cant recieve pst .

I think it would help if they included a toggle option to receive /tells only from players on your friends list, with the default being toggled off.

That might limit your friend making options a little bit, but at least it's something. I friend people I like grouping with and I invite them to do the same. For everything else, we have free companies and link shells, IMO.

The real answer is to get rid of the Gil sellers. Hopefully, you are submitting reports on these tells.

I actually copy and paste their tell into the "Detail" section.

Doing this actually cuts down on the tells.

You should be able to right click and report a player for abuse or gil selling (and while we're at it, being able to 'block player' (add to ignore list)). Reporting a player should automatically send the last 20 lines of text along with the report or something similar.

Since they don't have that in game, yes, we should follow those directions.

Getting rid of gil sellers is not going to be a problem that will ever be solved "satisfactorily" to some peoples standards, unless they ruin the game in order to do so.
