HACK - Botters teleporting, gil flooding market, SE Fix ASAP!

This is your most pressing issue right now. The chinese gil sellers are running thousands of bots right now teleporting all over the place and not taking damage. They are dumping gil into the economy and the inflation is already starting. I would estimate a billion + isk is dumped into the market everday across all servers from these bots. Its plain to see, they are just popping up all over the place under ground. Complaints are coming up all over the web, I would hope you address this quick before your game economy is so jacked up everyone is forced to buy gil or quit playing!!!

We have all seen this same story unfold to many times.... Please for the sake of your players fix this immediately, do not back burner this issue, its very serious.

And how, pray tell, are they "dumping gil into the economy"? Mind you, I agree that the botting and teleport hacks are getting out of control (if they ever were under control), but the botters aren't dumping anything into the economy. They farm shards, which they then sell to players on the market board. That's not dumping gil into economy, that's removing it (with market taxes).

Edit: Also, I'm curious what you are exactly basing this estimate on? I'm pretty sure no ISK is being dumped anywhere, seeing as that's the currency of EVE Online...

On Hyperion they have control of the Fleece/Tuffs market

Bots are standing in the middle of mobs on Thurm. with out a GC or FC and crap gear, claiming sheep as they pop with Scathe, then killing with Blizzard (no mp loss) I tried trading with one to interrupt it, but it didn't work.

im often out there outclaiming the bots on BLM w/ scathe but they have gotten smarter/better bots now and trading them isnt always working now as some have script to bypass it

Yes I've seen this as well especially annoying as they were farming my quest mobs

They didn't do anything about them in 1.0, what makes you think they are going to do something this time around? I use to report them day after day after day, one time for a week. They would bot shards upstairs at malestrom hq. They were still there weeks later, botting away....

There's quite the list of pressing issues right now at SE HQ.

At the moment, stabilizing and purchasing servers upwards of 50,000 dollars and hiring a team that can handle managing it is priority one.

This will be resolved, but you need to realize that this isn't the biggest problem facing the game at the moment, and it will be handled eventually.

These extreme words and calculations you use veer people into the wrong direction and create an angry, inflamed community. I recommend you chill out and enjoy what the game has to offer.

You don't think them dumping who knows how many 1 gil items to vendors injects gil into a server? I doubt they are vendoring the shards now seeing as they are offering them for cash now too. Not to mention grabbing nothing but allagan peices from the quests along the way to getting a fresh bot going.

No, I don't think they are dumping "who knows how many 1 gil items to vendor" because that would be beyond stupid. Shards are level 1 items, they can farm them more easily than anything else. But let's pretend that that's what they do: how would it affect the server economy? Even if half the population on any given server was gil sellers and they would all bot 24/7 for shards, to vendor, it still wouldn't even make a dent in the economy.

And shards are always going to be needed, so they are never gonna go for 1 gil a piece on market board. The miniscule amount of allagan pieces they get from the starting quests isn't going to cause inflation.

They can't vendor shards, but they can vendor things like copper ore. As someone with mining at 39, I know it does not take very long to get a couple hundred of an item. 300 in a half hour is not hard to do for non-shards manually. So just a rough estimate of a minimum of 600 gil per hour per character they have actively botting. Which if mining one item specifically, will have a full inventory of 9900 items in about 16.5 hours of focused mining. Now 9900 gil in that time frame for one character does not seem like much, but don't forget that they are not likely using only 1 character to do this. If they were using only 10 characters you are looking at over 100k gil generated daily just from vendoring 1 gil items. If 2000 characters on a server were doing this in that 16.5 hours, that is 19.8 million gil. I'd call that a rather large dent in the economy.

Now if they instead put whatever items up on the market boards, they are siphoning off everyone else's gil instead of creating it out of thin air.
