PS3 question-How do I exit the game to my PS3 screen?

I tried to quit the game by choosing "exit the game". It saved the game, but went to the main title screen of the game. I then pushed the PS3 middle button to exit the main screen, but I am unable to get out of the game? So, I literally had to take the game disk out of the console shut off the console and restart the console? good grief. On most PS3 games, when you press the PS3 middle button and it exits you out of the game and you are in the Playstation selections. What is wrong with this game? Why doesn't it exit?

I'm not sure why the single quick press on the PS button seems to be disabled, but press and hold it a second to bring up a menu that includes Quit Game. It works from there. (I've always exited from the game to the launcher first, to make sure it saves correctly. Then exit the launcher by holding down the PS button until that menu comes up.)

As with some other apps like PS Store you can't use short PS button press - only the long hold one, then select Exit game.
