All 3 cities main quests

Hi there, I wanted to know if it was possible to do all 3 starting cities main quests, I just moved to Ul'dah after the gridanian envoy quests and wanted to do all the quests in Ul'dah but it seems there is only the sidequests available??

I wanted to do the main Ul'dah quests to level a new class. Do I need to start another caracter to do the Ul'dah main quests?

Short answer, no. However, a lot of the quests are essentially the same thing for each city:

Starting tutorial to sign up with the Adventurer's Guild
Attune to the aethertye and learn Return, speak to an NPC in the Markets, and enroll in the Guild of your starting class,
Sent to a nearby camp where you speak to an npc and have to equip a full set of level 5 gear
Solo instanced fight at level 7 where you meet your nation's Archon for the first time (the actual enemy you fight differs between nations)
Solo instanced fight against a golem at level 10
Solo instanced fight against some beastmen, a gargoyle and the 'masked mage' at level 15
Quest line running around to participate in a special event (banquet/ball/festival) where you get a special piece of equipment
Finally meet with the nation's leader and are sent to the other nations as their envoy where you get your airship pass.

After this all three nations share the same storyline, so yeah, really all three nations effectively have the same storyline, it just differs in some details at the start. But no, you can't undertake the individual level 1-15 story quests for another nation, other than creating a different character and choosing a nation different from your first one.

Even after the lvl 15 envoy, do they separate or you still have to complete all of the main quests from the city you started in and never do the others unless you start a new game?

No, after the envoy quests all three nations have the same set of quests where you

have to join a party and complete the first three instanced dungeons, then join the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and do quests for them.

The story quests from 1-15 for other nations are never available either, as you've effectively done them already with your starting nation so it would be redundant.

Short answer, no. However, a lot of the quests are essentially the same thing for each city:

They're pretty similar in terms of what you need to do, but you meet different NPC characters in the process and have some differences in what's going on story-wise. (This is especially true in the story-heavy section of the last few quests leading up to the envoy quest. That part is completely different in each city.)

After level 15, they merge so that there's only one main quest line from then on, regardless of where you started.
