    Gil Buyers!?!?!?

I noticed what they said about people having a part in the recent RMT gil selling. I spoke to customer support about what they are doing about the people who bought gil. A lot of the people were obvious gil buyers due to no DoM/DoW/gathering classes above level 5 but all tradecrafts at 50 and all HQ items on a non-legacy server. These same people will argue their point of using the marketboard like a pro. Are they going to take care of these people even if they don't have a high amount of gil on their characters to keep unnoticed but abused the system. Is there a way for them to backtrack accounts and look at their activity, so these members also get punished?

Ehhh the people with all tradecrafts up are most likely legit (very easy to PL atm). Why would they spend all that rl money on gil to level crafting classes that are damn near worthless?

By level five you'd have enough cash from quests to buy mats for leves, once you start doing leves and get to around 15 or so I think, is the best time to start making stuff to sell, even if its tedious and slow. Use that money to buy more mats for leves and general grinding... its easy to see how it could be legit.

But, who knows. Maybe there are people who'd pay real money to do nothing but craft :T

how would they be legit, with no source of income in the first 3 weeks of release? Even if being fed from friends which these people do not admit to being case as they say they do offers for other people for in turn to have their help while leveling... I find that to be odd...

First off, "no DoM/DoW/gathering classes above level 5" is impossible, you can't take a crafting class until 10.

In all honesty its not hard to level at a profit, as long as you are willing to spend hours sitting and refining mats and reselling them.
Since crafts often require mats refined by other classes, its fairly easy to consistently sell said mats at a profit.
It's also pretty darn easy to consistently hq once you have enough cross class skills.
Heck I can use the macro system for everything save starred crafts, don't even need to react to Goods.

You'll actually be surprised how many gatherers are willing to help out crafters, in one of the crafter LS on my server, its actually not uncommon for some of them to just give their mats away.
I also actually have a second account I was planning to use exclusively for crafting, but since I found I needed to level a Dow to unlock field leves, I just used this.

Someone that only crafted and didn't lvl any DoW/DoM sounds more like a mule char to me than someone buying Gil. Most likely a character that was fed loads and loads off mats from an entire guild so they got 1 character that can do all the crafts.

my highest DoW class was 31 for the longest time, yet i have two level 50 crafts and two 30+ crafts. it's definitely possible.

some of the items that goldsmithing/weaving can make sell for a rather large profit margin, especially crafting gear.

for example, crafting gear for levels 15-20 can be HQ'd using mats available from the NPCs, and can sell for 1800-2500 gil each.

Actually I see more gil buyers with lvl 50 DoW/DoM with only 15 sub class needed wearing full 2 stars HQ gear and didn't even complete castrum/amdapor keep before (needed it for story)

I met 3 of them already...and god they where bad like Bard with full 2star inc weapon doing 75 dps only on bosses....(this was in AK)

I saw someone with over 5mil in accesories, and 1.4mil in weapons. No Relics at all.Not including the full HQ armor set he was wearing, except for his DL waist and lv50 AF chest.

    ...

I was using level 5 as a general, obviously they had like a archer at like level 21 n one gathering skill at like 13... the individual I am talking about doesn't farm their mats and no they didn't have a FC at the time, they also didn't have friends on the server. I have watched this person and another individual who actually made me gear for free out of kindness. I also know someone on server personally who doesn't play anymore anyway but I know for a fact has bought gil cause he got money to waste, n has used this bought gil for getting gear n so on to progress himself.

When the game opened there were some people smart enough to buy cheap items from the npc's, such are orange juice, chestnuts and lentils, chicken eggs etc and sell them for a huge mark-up to questers who did not know these were items from an NPC.

They used this gil to pay for mats etc to level their crafts to 50 using mostly leve's and then reaped in the easy gil by selling the first higher level/HQ crafted items at huge mark-ups.

Calling them cheats because they used their heads and you did not is ridiculous.

For the record I was not one of these smart people, but I did get my GSM to 50 as soon as I could (Miner at 42, my BLM at 39) and the gil from market sales early on was very good.

Most who craft in order to make gil, did so because later on it would help their main class (BLM for me), I think you'll find most gil buyers don't craft, because guess what? They don't *need* to.

Exactly, they not not likely to waste their time crafting, but usually want to get right into "end game" stuff.
