I guess this is another good point based on information I don't have yet. Stop being so reasonable! :P

Personally I highly recommend this option for all first timers.
However, now that I think about it, this isn't a good point. You see, for the casual crowd, FCs are for hardcores. You can experience 99.99999% of the main story casually at your own pace, alone except for the dungeons, but then you should just have magically known to join a guild so you can enjoy that last fraction of a percent of the story? How?

I have and still will, if someone is new, and they want to watch the CS, then I say nothing, same goes for me, I will watch a NEW cut scene, I will not watch it in the INN, that is for REWATCHING them later........

You want speed runs, make your own group, DF is not for speed runs -.- If your just in a hurry, then don't do a dungeon to begin with, wait till later when you have more time.

There are a lot of really cool people in this games community, but for whatever reason there sure are a lot of jerks in DF. Can't really even say its anonymity as a Garuda run I was on got trolled by a WHM from my server, and so they got blacklisted after everyone quit because of them. I kind of wish SE would actually slow down in making new content so that the GOTTA GO NOW A.D.D. types quit the game because they are a pox. Between raging over CSs as developed, to raging about people not knowing a fight the first ever time they do it and suggesting they should have watched it on youtube or something first, its like, is this a game or a driving simulator where you really just get on a monorail and sit hoping no one coughs on you?

Let them watch the CS period. They are there for a reason. I can understand if this was a 2nd or more run on it but if it is there 1st let them watch it.

While it's true that you can do every bit of the content along the main story without joining an FC (I did myself), to say that FCs are for hardcores is feeding a common misconception. My current FC, "The Working Class" is an FC dedicated to casual players with jobs, lives, children, and all those other things that tend to get in the way of 3am mandatory coil runs. I'm entirely sure there are similar FCs on other servers, but if you're looking for a great group of folks to be a casual with I invite you to transfer to Lamia and look us up! I promise we'll let you watch the cutscenes.

As you'll see me reference once again below in a moment, the DF does not cater to any one specific playstyle. An FC can guarantee you a solid run, the DF does not and likely never will. And again, I'm referring to what is, not commentating on what should be.

Can you provide the link for me to where, in any part of the game or the SE site it says that the DF is not for "speed runs"? Despite my considerable Google-foo skills I've yet to find it.

And for the majority of folks a lack of time to spend isn't the issue. It's not a matter of waiting until more time is available, it's a matter of wanting to maximize the profit from the time invested.

    NO YOU DO NOT.

TO ANYONE READING, NOT ALL CUTSCENES ARE VIEWABLE AT THE INN.

Specifically for me, it was the Preatorium cutscenes between the various forms of the Ultima Weapon fight. I was bullied into skipping them and I currently have NO IDEA how I ended up fighting Lahabrea. When I went to go view them at the inn, all I had there was the cutscenes AT THE END of the quest, not the stuff DURING.

DO NOT BELIEVE SPEEDRUNNER LIES. YOU CANNOT VIEW ALL CUTSCENES AT THE INN. THEY DO NOT WATCH THEM AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT.
    Choose category: Duty
    Choose instanced dungeon: Praetorium

you get a selection of thirteen (yes 13!) cutscenes to watch. Only reason you'd miss some is if you joined the run midway and was never present for the events that triggered the CS.

My thoughts on this are simple. I'll watch them when I damn well wana watch them. If it's my first time through something, that means I'm going to watch them THEN. If that means everyone else doing their "Speed Run" goes on without me or waits, than that's the way it is. Thankfully this stuff should be minimized with the new party finder.

You don't want to skip the Praetorium cut-scenes, namely because they include your actual partymembers in them and that's something none of the other dungeons do. You can't replicate that in the Inn scenes (it will just show yourself).

There is zero reason to speedrun Praetorium when you have WP. Just play it slow and normal.

I was helping my fc member do Castrum and he made me skip the cutscenes. Told me to watch it at the inn I'm like this is only my 20th time watching the cutscene.
