I just tell people to watch what they want to watch.

I don't care about the group's "time". It's not valuable, or they wouldn't be wasting it playing a video game. The story is good, and I am not going to support ruining a new player's experience because a bunch of people who are tired of the game but addicted or forcing themselves to play want to rush.

    Too bad.

Usually when the healer say "Lay off and let the guy enjoy his cut scenes... God knows SOMEONE should enjoy this run" people are usually fine with it. Afterall, people deserve to enjoy going through instances at least once before "THE GRIND".

you get a selection of thirteen (yes 13!) cutscenes to watch. Only reason you'd miss some is if you joined the run midway and was never present for the events that triggered the CS.
Thank you very much. For some odd reason, I assumed they would be in the main scenario quest for Preatorium. That's more an issue with the logbook being poorly organized.

i play a scholar as a main, if i by chance end up in a prae or cm dungeon and notice that we have new folks i will watch the cutscenes with them. people are less likely to engage bosses early and get newbies locked out when their healer is one of the ones watching the scenes =p

I'm not sure that apology is sufficient...

What are static/FC/LS parties for? Apparently they aren't for people who want to group together with other people who all want to run dungeon content the exact same way every single time. With all the people that tell others to go watch the tivo in their innroom, and throw insane fits when they don't, that's apparently what DF pugs are for.

Same reason why players that want to watch cutscenes don't use static/FC/LS.

SE should just give more seals for CS viewing for those 2 dungeons if there is a noob. Not the best "gameplay design" but oh well

I agree completely with OP. You want a speed run, get yourself a full group. I like watching the cut scenes and I don't give a good god damn if you want a speed run or not. It is part of the experience for me and I sure as hell am not going to let one or two impatient twats push me into skipping a part of the game I enjoy, simple. Sure I can watch them at the inn, but I prefer them to tie into what I am doing and unless I have purposely entered a speed run group, I am watching them ALL.

    Don't like it? Tough titties.

it makes more sense to have a static or full group from your own server for speed runs, then it does running story content for the story.

It's not a speed run, it's a normal run. There's normal and then there's slow. Also I've done DF Castrum and Prae often back when it was relevant. You guys are the vocal minority! kekekke. But seriously, 90 percent (random percentage) of my df parties always want me to go as fast as possible as a tank.

Bottom line is you can't change what players do. If you want to watch the CS go for it and if they want to just keep fighting without you that's fine as well. If you really want to do it under your conditions, then make your own group no matter which side you're on. Majority always wins out.
