Linkshell for small FCs

We have now founded a new Linkshell consisting of an alliance of currently 3 FCs. We now have enough members to put together raids and offer all crafting services.
So if your guild is looking for a group to join into for content that requires more members than you have, please /tell me ingame (Tessra Arisira) or answer here. We're still recruiting new FCs :-)
Please note that your guild will retain full autonomy and responsibility for itself. We do not enforce a shared inventory, TS attendance or whatever. But we expect your FC to join as a whole with all its members and contribute to the efforts and fun of the alliance.
We also do not invite individual people since we're an FC alliance. If you wish to join, please apply for a member FC :-)

Hello all,

My FC is a small band (3-5 ppl online) of real-life friends with quite extensive experience in multiple online games.
We'd like to maintain our own authority regarding guild buffs and housing, yet are too few to put together even 8-person raids.

Is there already a LS for such small FCs in order to find players to raid with? I think we aren't the only small FC?

The LS can be casual or determined, but although we're usually online every day, we cannot guarantee fixed times for raiding, therefore it would be nice if the LS was big enough so we could just help out in / initiate raids from time to time. We're quite experienced and would like to tackle the harder raids as well, so hopefully the LS would contain like-minded people. We can also offer 2 capable tanks and healers as well ;-)

If your FC is also looking for a LS like this, feel free to respond, we can just open a LS if there isn't one already.

we'r a small FC(4 people) formed up of real-life friends and have been, just like you looking for some sort of LS alliance or similar, since many of us likes to craft we'r using our FC chest quite extensively, and would like to see what the upcoming housing has to offer, so we felt that moving to a bigger FC is not in our best interest atm, we've got experience across many other mmo's dating back to eq2.

we would definetly be interested and seeing what direction this would take.

Great, so there're two of us already^^
The FC chest is a concern too, that's true. Our chest is constantly full as well.

If there's really no alliance-like LS at the moment, we could just open one. And try to recruit other FCs. For raids we can provide a TS server, so the only problem is how we should call the LS^^ I hate name-finding.

I'm purposefully writing this here in the forums in order to generate interest for this cause, but I'll contact you in-game later on.

You'd be better off forming a FC out of the smaller FC's....and turning the current small FC's into the actual LS.

This is why:
1. FC's actually hold more ppl than a LS...500+ vs 128.
2. FC's have a chests, multiple membership tiers and are better served to sharing assets/members and information.
3. You can have FC messages when you log in
4. FC's are for 'big' content...content larger than a party
5. You earn points faster for your FC the more active players you have...these points= better buffs/perks etc.
6. Linkshells can still organize and plan their own events...basically a linkshell is all that is needed to do everything in game atm.


So just make the 'FC' leaders a leader from every current small FC. Reform the small FC's as Linkshells and set up the FC chest/perks however the leaders see fit.

If worried about a chest, create a LS mule character for now to hold things on' Even without retainers, it's a fair amount of storage.

Thanks for you consideration, but forming a big FC is not in our best interest, because of the following reasons:

1. We do not need 500+ people, we do not even need 128 people. I guess about 60 would be more than plenty to always have enough people around.
2. FCs have tiny chests that would have to be properly managed in a FC. Even my tiny FC always has all slots full and we use the chest actively for trading/mailreplacement purposes.
3. The FC message for login is tiny. Things that need to be propagated to all members should be handled by the respective guild leaders.
4. Even with 4 people we generate more points than we can spend
5. A LS mule would need an account that hosts said mule, bringing with it issues of responsibility, trustfulness etc. There really is no reason to share stuff between the alliance anyway.

Reasons for LS:
1. Retain a sense of individuality in the alliance. I have a FC with my friends, we can do with the FC what we wish, we can name it as we wish it and we can identify with it and we can proudly display the tag and its banners.

2. Retain full authority about the buffs and perks the FC uses. Because our FCs are so small, our needs are most likely the same in the FC. However, in the alliance, that might not be the case.
3. Retain the ability to use the housing content as every FC wants.
4. Use the FC chest for purposes every FC decides itself.
5. In the end there is no advantage of merging the FCs. As you said, Linkshells are perfect for organizing and planning events, therefore they offer everything the alliance needs.

The alliance's purpose is solely to simplify the search for raids and crafting/gathering services. We could just ask random people, but we'd like reliable people and getting to know each other.

To be blunt, I'm amazed that such an alliance does not yet exist (and also a bit disappointed that there is no built-in alliance system in the game, but we can work around that with linkshells).
