Will something like ffxiah ever be possible with this game?

Anyone who played FFXI knows exactly how amazing and helpful ffxiah.com is/was. I'm not tech savvy whatsoever, so I have no idea how that website was possible, nor do I know if something similar could work using the market board in this game. But I'd really like to know if someone is working on something similar now, if there's plans to, or if it's just not possible?

Probably not exactly the same, given the fact the Market Boards are not a true Auction House - it's just a listing of retainers which are nothing but player bazaars (you're not bidding on an item when you buy something on the Market Board, you're literally buying that item directly).

I presume someone would probably come up with some kind of automatically updating database listing for the Market Boards, but as far as your question goes, I don't see it happening any time soon.

FFXI didn't have a true action house either. You would bid on things and if you passed the threshold set by the seller, you'd successfully buy. It wasn't an ebay style competition of bids over a set time. It was just try to buy and once you met that limit, your new item would be purchased. People would make guesstimate buys based on purchase history. But this game allows you to see the price the seller set. FFXIAH allowed you to see player various data based on history of sells. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like ffxiah in the near future.

Yes, I'd like to see this please! I'm not "website or tech" savvy either, but not to get off topic completely, I'd love to know if anyone knows anything in the works about an "AltanaViewer" for FFXIV:ARR. AltanaViewer (for those who don't know) would allow you to listen to the music files, play around with NPC files, and play with character models with the current gear/weapons/emotes/etc. Any word of anyone working on a "HydaelynViewer" for FFXIV:ARR?

How is this different from XI's?

FFXI's AH would show the history of transactions that have already happened in the same format every time. I assume that's what FFXIAH scanned for its data (Which is why sometimes you wouldn't see certain transactions in XIAH's history if they were happening very quickly). It's probably harder to set up such a scan for XIV's market boards because it would need to scan what's up on the Market Boards right now.

I don't think it's impossible though, I hope if they ever plan on doing it they'll put in a "The Market Boards was scanned at x:xx time" so you have an idea of how recent the data is though.

Also as far as the question to whether they will exist or not, I think you'll probably get a more informative answer asking about that on the FFXIAH message board itself, because XIAH was never approved of by the FFXI devs.

Difficult, but not inherently impossible.
I can play with it. But given the closed nature of the game's workings, I doubt it will be any type of smooth.
