A quick survey of the ffxiv bot providers out there (who have been open for business since september, have youtube commercials and all) reveals no gathering bot with that capability.

Theoretically you could use a memory controller in conjunction with a gathering bot, and the weird marriage may cause a locked-in miner to somehow change locations during a mining attempt.

I have yet to find real evidence of that distance hack that some of these bots seem to have though, and we have visual confirmation of that.

It definitely would takes and advanced program to bot mining or botany for there is a lot of obstacle to go around. a bot could easily get stuck up. I personally never had evidence of someone botting (taking into acount that those people who dont reply me back are just being rude). Most of the botting problem seems to be concentrated into straight crafting and fishing.

This may have been a beta test of a next-gen botter, who knows.
But a this-gen botter plus an memory controller running pattern to four or five known node positions is plausible.

Many crafting cheaters use memory controllers. They set a series of actions on their controller, then tell it to input it repeatedly. They just set it to hit standard synth enough times to guarantee that the synth either fails or succeeds.

Instant crafting bot. It levels your craft while you watch a movie, and the only thing you have to watch out for are puple tells in the tiny corner of your screen as you do whatever else you want.

Is that cheating? Of course it is.
