It's nice that they are rebooting Final Fantasy 14, but they should also reboot their senior management while they're at it.

Yep. It's like...management has no idea what it's doing! This is why I don't understand why SE isn't being aggressive about cheating. They don't stand to lose money. They built the entire game to crazily combat cheating and RMT...and then the STF is nowhere to be seen the first year of the game's life.
Doesn't make any sense to me at all why they would torpedo the game with anti-cheating and anti-rmt countermeasures that end up making the game unfun for everyone...and then allow people to cheat all the un-fun content they built to prevent cheating.

I'm not allowed to say what I think of Yoichi Wada's Square Enix vision here.
Nickel and diming tamagotchi comes to mind.
The biggest problem so far is how SE decides to tackle these problems with botters and rmts, instead of addressing the issue of how reporting, investigation and suspension can be improved, or simply accepting the fact that people are going to cheat, and rmts are going to make money, they simply end up hurting the players that invest the time into this or that.
like right now, gatherers hit a 50% sp fatigue after a couple of hours, add the actual sp fatigue system on to this, and even at stage 1 you're losing 55% of your sp gain, and you aren't getting any items either
imagine if they made it so that after 200 synths you broke everything and received half sp for the synth
or you killed 200 monsters and now you get no drops, and your sp is halved
sound fair?
ya, i didn't think so

You know, I hear lots of speculation on how SE should address this problem, but I'm really tired with just hearing about it. I'm starting to not care how they do it, just that they do something...it's making the game unenjoyable for several players, and prevents others from joining too.
I kind of feel like it's not our responsibility to make this game fair and enjoyable, it's Square Enix's.
I agree damage has already seriously been done. I just hope before too much new content comes out, it's addressed. We need a new start. Not entirely, I don't want a character wipe...but seriously before a cap raise, they better address this stuff. It's really unacceptable from a company that wants this game taken seriously to let this continue on.

3000+ views and 81 responses.. C'mon SE let us know if those who violate the Terms Of Use and the Final Fantasy XIV User Agreement aren't going to get away with it.. I doubt a Dev with all the knowledge in this game could have humanly maxed out most of all their crafting jobs in 8-9 months.
Probably because the devs don't know how their game works either.
But capping crafts is fairly easy since the sp change. Just a matter of how long you're willing to spam that good ol' standard. Def possible some could have done it legit by now, or sooner.
Where the horsebirds at?!

Well... when all it takes to level something is pressing one button over and over,But capping crafts is fairly easy since the sp change. Just a matter of how long you're willing to spam that good ol' standard.
it's no wonder bots pop out of thin air in droves.
All I know is that me and a GM could fix this problem on our server in one Saturday afternoon if I took them around Ulda to show them all the afk crafters, then out to view the shardbotters in their native environs. Craftbotter by day. Shardbotter by night.
SE either knows and doesn't fully understand what it's doing to their product, or doesn't know. Both are equally ridiculous. Every day that botters continue their parasitism, the more and more people who would otherwise have played the game legitimately turn to cheating.
So found something new lately thats happening with people botting while gathering
they are glitching majorly on the node(it shows them well over 10 yards away from the mode, and they move AFTER they start gathering)
i noticed 1 specific person was doing this last night when i was out at treespeak, and only the 1 person, the other 2 out there with me werent glitching at all
and it wouldnt have been suspicious, except he did it on EVERY node, and it was only him
and ive seen this in the past with certain other people, and it seems consistant
so something they are doing is causing the game to glitch while they gather
