    Making Gil Efficiently?

What are some good ways to make a decent amount of gil in this game? Am I going to have to start getting into DoH territory?

If you are not into crafting, you could always sell the shards you will no doubt have been hoarding. But sell them on the market, not to vendors. The money you get from vendors for shards is just a slap in the face.

Shards sell for really good money even more then crafted items i find.
Just put up 500 or so at a time and you can easily get 6,000 or more
Every time i run into those enemies either Earth or Wind (forget the enemies name) i will go defeat them. Also perhaps take up mining as you get get metal to sell or to craft items

Sell any crafting items you receive from enemies(things like fleece, toadskin, etc), especially if it's HQ. If your not gonna do crafting, sell off your shards. When you sell shards though, do not sell them in huge batches, sell them in batches of no more then 100, but try to keep them at around 20-50, with a reasonable price tag(that means don't over charge like a greedy person, or sell at a price that will make you nothing), that way they'll sell much faster as people will more then likely buy smaller bunches for fair prices, then huge bunches which will cost them much more gil.

If you're gathering shards, you can gather about 100 shards in 15-20 minutes (depending upon level, stats, node bonuses, etc). I would recommend selling them on the market in stacks of 100. You can sell them faster, but that means you'd only have a max of 4000 shards on the market where as 500 * 40 is 20,000 shards.

I personally have a member of my FC who's needing Lightning Shards, and I'm selling him 200 (30 min of gathering) for 6k gil.

Thanks, I never thought to sell shards. And yes, I have heaps of them from all the quests and monsters I've killed so far. Up until now I thought the best way was to do dungeon runs from the first 3 dungeons and sell all the "Plundered" gear I find.

Oh no no no, save that gear, because you can trade gear in like that, or the aetherial gear, for GC seals when you achieve the rank of Sergent second class.

Also, later on when you go to qarn or above and get items that looks like gear but have no stats, DO NOT DISCARD THEM. They can be worth 10k gil if it has a shortage of supply. The reason for that is it is used in crafting at high level.

I heard someone say something like that when I was doing a Copperbell run once, when they asked why I never pick up any aetherial gear (I don't because it's not tradeable, I consider it junk if I already have something better). After that I went to my GC's HQ and looked around, but never found anything resembling a gear trade in feature. I'll be sure to save up my seals for promotions and start doing that.

Run CM or Praetorium a lot. Assume you manage to do 2 runs per hour, that's 200 tomestones per hour. Each 125 tomestones can net you an item you can resell for, depending on your server, anywhere between 10k gil to 50k gil.

    Cash racks up insanely fast.
