Also not sure what you mean Raphael about being job specific but I do think it is an option you can change in character settings as I have common bars and separate bars for jobs hope that helps you just check out the settings
thanks. Interesting. As I said, still learning. I've read something about that (whole lot of info to absorb when starting a new game), but then I have to question why one can be a paladin, or a bard etc. Class choice, having to make a class in the beginning. Can a Pally become a bard? Am I way off base with this? I'm still sorting it all out (which is why I'm on this board LOL), but I'm sure it will start to make sense as I learn.

I haven't gotten to jobs yet, but I do have multiple classes. Here's how I understand it:

A palladin needs to be at least level 30 gladiator & level 15 conjurer. A bard needs to be level 30 archer & level 15 pugilist. But you can be all of those on one character if you take the time to level each of them. It's possible to advance a single character in all eight adventuring classes, all eleven crafting/gathering classes, and all nine jobs.

At a given moment, you're only advancing one class, and have full access to one class or job. (Some skills, however, can be assigned as cross-class skills, so there are advantages to leveling up other classes as well.) To change classes once you've unlocked them, you simply change your equipped weapon/tool. To change jobs (once unlocked) you change your equipped soul crystal.
