has there been any news/annnouncements on the ps3 fate problems?

finally got to experience my 1st odin fate was hugely disappointed due to odin disappearing etc.....

dont seem to have problems in any other fates except the boss 1s like odin/svara/behemoth etc etc :'(

This is not a PS3 problem, this happens on PCs as well. I really wish people would actually do some digging before automatically saying "must be a PS3 problem".

It's a priority issue. The game isn't loading, or removing certain aspects correctly. And yes, Square already stated that they're working on the priority issue.

If you want to help reduce the problem, turn the settings for skill effects down(I run with the skill affects of unknown people turned off, and those of my party turned to partial).

ive tried minimal settins posible everything turned off still same problems, thats why i stopped levelin fightin classes until it was fixed ;/ only reason i attempted odin was due to bein in the area collectin walnuts n odin spam on shout started :P

Another relation to the issue can be your ISP, cause the crappier the connection speed, the slower things will load in those situations. Are in you NA or EU, who's your provider? And don't trust what any of those "connection speed test" sites that will tell you that you've got 100Mbps down with time warner or something, because they're compete BS. No civilian ISP in NA offers anything close to 100Mbps. The highest connection offered in the NA is 56Mbps. Not sure what it is in EU, but i've been told it's not as high as in NA or Japan.

nah my net n speed is fine the only time i ever lag is the big boss fates, i can spam craftins with 50 people craftin beside me n nvr lag or dc ;/ same with fates no issues with 30-40 ppl spammin fates just the boss 1s ;/

You can get 500 - 1000 Mb in some countries already but it's pretty common to hav 100 - 200 Mb easilly.

The issue is with the game mechanics, not platform.
The game gives priority to load character model over mob, that's why when there's too many people and too many effects, the mobs are not loaded.

A good fix would be to give priority to mobs, then players then (other people's effects). And to not load too many characters, implement that dummy model (something like this) so we know there's a character there, but it wasn't loaded yet. That would even improve the map's loadings, since you load character data as you see them.

This did not "fix" it for me, but it is "better". I highly recommend all you PS3 players to turn effects to minimum, turn all name labels to display only if you target them, never display hp bars of people not in your party along with any of their pets/minions/companions, and use a lot of prayer. SMile

I left the object names to always show and I can find them easier now. This is handy for those turn in type fates.

If I could turn the graphics mode to 8 bit Mario style, I'd do that too, but it seems I can't.

And how many civilian ISPs have fiber optic in the US? like 1, and it's only 56Mbps. Government ISP's, those that are owned and used by the military for example, are all Fiber optic, and run at insane speeds that civilians can't get. Japan is the only country in which you're going to get 100+Mbps.

Not just PS3, but PC users as well. Works across both platforms. It's not fix, but it does help.
