hmm... i didn't know about the Entry option (i just started playing a few days ago), but it looks very interesting. Since you can play all classes on a single character only having 1 char on a server shouldn't be much of an issue.

In most cases, price differences in these things are due to taxing differences. For example, in Germany, prices include a 30% tax. So (a converted) 9.20 € becomes 12 €. Other countries have other taxes or apply them in other ways. You can certainly get around this by importing things, but remember that instead of a tax, you may have to calculate in high shipping fees.

30% tax in Germany? The VAT all over Europe is around 20% (21% in Italy, 19% in UK). Unless Germany has an extra tax for digital products that doesn't make much sense. Also there is no import from UK to any EU country. I just wonder if the FF XIV subscription cards for PC work for PS3 accounts as well (they should). This is what I've got from Amazon UK, 60 days subscription:

Too bad that Amazon now charges again for shipping&delivery in EU. Apparently they hate continental customers.

I honestly don't even know how exactly the 30% are calculated, just that they exist. 19% of it are our VAT, the rest must be some other crap. (Yeah, I'm not happy about it either, just used to it -_-)
If you are trying to use the PC card on a PS3, let us know how that worked out?
£8.99 is abit steep, should be around a fiver
Wat u on about?
I ment £9 a month for a game in General is steep, every other game £40 or less for life

I understood what you meant. You're confusing regular console type games with subscription type games.
The 40 or less for life games you buy the game and that's it. The game as released is all you get unless they give out expansions and the like (which you have to pay for).
The monthly subscription games are different in that they are given dynamic updates as you play them that you don't have to pay extra for. They're also typically much larger and have much less time between updates than the single pay game has for expansions. And, typically, these cost about the equivalent of £9 a month.
Don't get me wrong id pay £20 a month haha coz I love the game and buy anything "final fantasy" relatedI understood what you meant. You're confusing regular console type games with subscription type games.

Was just thinking over a year the total cost, I know other mmos are same price but am sure ff11 charged for expantion pack too
I take it the price is to cover the severs costs? And constite bug fixing and adjusting stats and game macanics to keep it balanced

dont forget how the currency converts over to yen, since we are at least considering a jap company, i can bet that the £ goes a lot further then euros or dollars over there
