    Sunken Temple tips required.

    Hey guys.
I'm after some tips for Sunken Temple.
I did a run today as Archer with a pug, and i sucked big-time!!
Got to the 1st boss - Terrotaur with the wespes, we wiped 1/2 dozen times (if your reading this, sorry guys....), i was bad and knew it so, to save further debacle i bailed.

I understand the routine in that room: Watch for boss' aoe doom and stand on pads if/when hit, take out bees asap, but it seems that if you lose concentration for 1 sec, you can miss the aoe - esp if dealing with the bees, then ko to the doom..

Sooooo, having said that, any advice, or just bypass S.T. as it isn't story or quest related (i think...)?

    any advice (constructive....) appreciated.
    Cheers guys.

I did this as BRD. What I did was keep one eye on the pads. I wouldn't wait for him to use Doom, I'd just run from lit pad to pad. If he used it I was already there. And since I was ranged i could hit him or the bees from anywhere. If the bees came in I'd get in close real quick to Quick Nock then back to the pad and take the bees out.

all the thing you said is true nothing more to add actually ... and again as you said if you lose concentration for 1 sec you may end up dead ... and dooms is your priority when you engaged both doom and bees ... and if you are ranged class go and stand the glowing pad before doom, that way you dont have to run to the glowing pad cause when doom appear the glowing pad changes too (but at the same time its purify your doom)

If you're more of a warning/castbar reader, a text in the middle of the screen will always say "The Teratotaur begins to growl..." shortly before it begins to cast Mortal Ray, which is the spell that inflicts Doom. That's your cue to begin moving. Naturally, don't forget about killing the Dung Wespes in time as well.

Additionally, if your tank is very quick, the tank can spoil the group by simply stunning Mortal Ray/Doom and completely ignoring the mechanic. Though I wouldn't know if Squeenix would count that as an exploit. <_<

The pads can change right after a Doom is cast, as well. I've been hit with doom, run towards a lit-up pad, and seen it turn off as I reached it, and a different one light up. So be sure you're running to the right one to get the debuff off you. Also, Sprint is your friend.

Scorpius if you have tunnel vision issues when killing adds, and forget about checking at the boss moves, you can ask for the tank to do a sound signal to the group when it happens.

By writting <se.10> in the party chat (as a matter of fact any number from 1 to 7 or so, not just 10) it will trigger a sound for you to hear.

The other thing that can help you, target the boss, press SHIFT+F (focus target), you will see a small window locked on the boss target.

This way you can see if the boss is casting something, even if you're busy with adds.

Change you awareness priorities, your top priority in this fight is the boss AOE, so be more pending on it, even if that means the bee will die 5 seconds later

Move your status effect bar to middle of screen or near whatever you look mostly at. When you get doom look how that icon looks, then just watch for it.
Or make one chat tab that displays only engaged enemy casts, and look for doom message there.
Or just watch for huge red circle.

Get used to avoiding aoe later it will get only worse (or more fun).

tanks only real job is to point his aoes away from the rest of you
dps only real job is having to kill a couple bees
if he does a growl and then some bees spawn then some people panic, but with stoneskin you survive final sting, or the bees could be sleeped, or with good dps its just not a problem they can get rid of doom and still manage the bees

as a whm i'd keep regen on tank, stoneskin on dps and then you can actually throw stones at the bees yourself to make sure they go down (or push one away with fluid aura if they've been alive too long)

    Doom doesn't work like that.

Doom si a debuff applied by the boss. You live for 10 seconds, then you die if you dont remove the debuff. To remove it, you have to step onto a lit pad, and the debuff is removed. You can freely move then, there si no need to stay on the platform
