Fair enough, point taken.
I interpreted their comment as being more of a figure of speech. As in "these people are like family to me". I get your point, but its not uncommon for some people to refer to their best friends as being "like family".
KeheheheheGlad it got a chuckle going for ya! Seriously though, no. Its nice if the OP likes the game; power to him or her and all that.
But none of us are toggling 'walk' to make the game last longer/more difficult. WE TOTALLY COULD!

I had to lol.
I encountered a whm that kept walk on all throught WP tonight. Fantastic healer, never made it through red though. The third time on second boss, we won, but because the whm wasn't targeted.
I've already subbed, and it's because I'm having fun. Got a nice FC, and I'm excited for the new stuff around the corner.
You can complain this is the same old game, with a new skin. I get that. But then what game do you propose that is so much different? In the end, most MMO's are the same game, and if they're not, they're rather dull or have other limitations.
"You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means."
I just wished SE would have tried to inject more uniqueness / innovation into 2.0. I get that they wanted to go the route which they think is safe (basically copying / selecting features which are good in other MMOs plus some tweaking and FF reskinning)...but I hoped for moreWell, let's see what they can come up with in the future.
They did what all businesses do. They look at success and try to emulate it. If you read Yoshi's strategy, he was very clear on this. And let's be honest, we're complaining about a good game not being unique, instead of 1.0, a bad game just being terrible. You have to look at this in context.I just wished SE would have tried to inject more uniqueness / innovation into 2.0. I'm hoping the future will be more unique as well. Time will tell. They have solid ground to do just that.

I'd rather say: they did what most businesses do. If all businesses would just emulate and iterate on previous stuff, there would be little to no innovation in the market. They did what all businesses do. They look at success and try to emulate it. I read Yoshi's ideas, and I can't say that I'm surprised of the outcome which is 2.0 because in fact he made very clear what they want to do. Anyway, I still hoped for more, that's why I referred to it as a 'wish', and I still have some hope for the future.
OP, you just deserve my like.
I can say that I don't go straight and recommend to anyone FFXIV ARR because I know some people aren't happy with the endgame content, some don't care for the crafting, some are afraid of the community being too hardcore, some can't afford the game/the monthly subscription, but I've been playing this game since beta 3, I've reached lv. 38 on my main class and I am still having fun, so, why not subscribe, right?

I dragged a bunch of people to this game that didn't even want to play it because of the 1.0 fiasco
these people include:
2 people from my old 'multi-gaming' guild/lotro kinship
5 people from my SWTOR guild
2 people from my SWTOR guild's alliance (and more people from the alliance are playing but I had nothing to do with that)
2 people from my TSW guild
1 people from my family ()
all are subbing.
so... haters? bite me![]()
You asked why, i'll say and probably get flamed for it.
I wont be subbing after my 60 days because of these reasons.
The game is too hard for me, the Dungeons gate me from watching/playing the storyline, some don't like storyline, i do its why i play games if there isn't a story to follow i get get bored and lose interest. Dungeons do not interest me at all.
Which brings me to why its hard, yes if you can pass the dungeons without dealing with the Duty Finder Masses you are incredibly lucky, great for you. After 50 levels of Story and Gated dungeons then it gets Hard, Grinding and tedious fate farming, repetitious leves and dungeons do not keep me very long. Its boring and hard to deal with in a game which is designed to be fun, it is not, if i wanted to work i'd get a second job not pay SE money to work.
The dungeons are bad (to me) because of the Delay, i do not know what it is or why its here but as an Australian player it makes Dungeons almost impossible for me, i do not have the coordination to deal with whatever it is they've done to the netcode. Nor should i have too.
And the community i'll say i've met a few friendly good people in my small FC but outside of that i've never in my life had to deal with so many "scumbags" in a group, in one game ever. Makes me so glad i missed Playing WoW and LOL when they were released, So glad i stayed in other mmo's if this is what those Games created.
The game could have been fun if they weren't so focused on making everything unfun just to keep the player base longer..
