You consider people you met in your FC like family?
Jesus Christ almighty what's the world coming to.

Is this sarcasm or are you really confused by this? It is not uncommon for people to develop real friendships with people they game with.
I have not found anything quite like that on this game but I played a game called Socom with the same group of guys for a period of about 10 years and I would consider them very good friends of mine. If you take into consideration the amount of hours you log with some of these people in the virtual environment..its not really hard to believe that some people develop genuine friendships..heck some people even find love while playing these games.
That said if it was sarcasm..fair enough..you can basically disregard this lol.
As for the topic at hand, I am still a bit skeptical about the long term outlook on this game, but I also subbed for a 3 month period to see where it takes me. If I am not having much fun by the time the Elder Scrolls Online launches than maybe I will check that out. Sadly, I agree with Recycler..I am not sure I would have subbed at all had this not been a Final Fantasy title.

I think you're confused. I wasn't referring to the word friendship but to the (miss)use of the word family.
Disclaimer: This is my opinion of course. Family is sacred where I'm from.

Fair enough, point taken.
I interpreted their comment as being more of a figure of speech. As in "these people are like family to me". I get your point, but its not uncommon for some people to refer to their best friends as being "like family".
I don't know why, but your comment is making me laugh hard right now.
But ya I totally agree. I don't really know how anyone can really treat their fellow online friends as actual "friends" or "family." That's a little weird to me...
