I agree with what you say OP, but let's be honest - The world and gameplay is pretty bland because SE focused a bit too much on making it too mainstream/streamlined rather than making it a FF game.

...Come on. I'm resubbing, love the game. But saying that it has a great community? No way. This has the worst community I have ever seen. I don't care though, more little whiners to own in PvP!
If I log into my 50 monk, I have the choice of running AK 10 times to cap mythology then grinding 1000's of philosophy for alts or waiting to do coil every few days which, frankly, is a pretty boring instance(upto turn 4).
I took a scholar to 50, but the phillo gear treadmill is insane and I'm probably closing on 200 AK runs. I'm not going to pay for another month to do any of that crap.
I half a year subbed because i like the game i play, and Yoshi's attitude towards it.
2.1 will be the savior, its no secret this game was released early without some things they wanted in at launch. There is enough to keep us over till 2.1 , if you are feeling empty why not trying to resub at 2.1? 3 more dungeons max level, pvp, treasure hunting, extreme mode primals, a new primal, crystal tower, even a randomly enter a dungeon and get a reward system is in the works for 2.1.

I'll always be subbed. I see so many threads and posts about the game going in a dull and boring direction. How there is no endgame content, etc. And I take the time to read everyone's views and explanations. But honestly for me, it will take me a very long time to reach any frustrating endgame grinding/content. I have so much to do with my character that I know patches and updates and fixes will be done to the game so that the content people are annoyed with now, will hopefully be ironed out.
I think it's worth being patient and being a part of an ever changing community and a beautiful game that never fails to amaze me. I can't count how many times the music has given me chills or how many environments take my breath away. People might say that's a fan or white knight mentality. I think of it more as being a believer in something better to come. And I am enjoying living in the moment in game, and taking everything as it comes to me. Just my thoughts.
I hear you OP, it's why I stuck with 1.0, I was having tons of fun then and still am now.
I've been taking my time getting to 50 because of the rumors I've seen of how bad the endgame community is. I'm going to sub, but mostly because I figure most of these people will probably leave. Probably a terrible thing to think but I won't mind having the negative part of the community weeded out a bit.
On that thought, lower player population may result in lower queue times :P
I don't think what you're saying is unreasonable and if you're someone not used to playing in a group dynamic setting it can be a challenging shift where in a solo experience you can control everything, whereas in a group all of the parts need to work together. In particular, I note that you picked CNJ as your main class, which plays one of the most critical roles in the group setting, healing. Usually when things go wrong, this is one of the first people blamed, and also one that plays arguably the most critical role in the group's success. I'm not suggesting that you should have played an "easier" class, but you might have had a different experience if you had selected a DPS role which have a larger margin for error.
Final Fantasy has always been about a group of adventurers coming together to overcome what seems like an insurmountable challenge, so the idea of working as a team to complete the story helps keep this title true to the franchise. It sounds like MMO's are in general not your style of game (which is absolutely fine), but the part you find unfun, is one of the things many of us most appreciate - working collectively to overcome difficult encounters.
I have updated the OP with a look at the negatives. Some were saying "what about the negatives" and I thought it only fair to touch on them two so you can get a more complete view of my position, I;m not all sunshine and rainbows.

I chose the six month sub figured with the way I play it will at least give me that much time of enjoyment by that time I'll have either run out of things to do and move on to the next game or I'll sub for another month because there is more to do.
