I don't think you are. Me and many others have exact same experience. It's just a theory but I think it's because FFXIV's community mostly consists of ex-ffxi players (worst community I've ever experienced) and WoW outcasts.

Why gloss over all the negatives though?
There's only one way to level, and only one endgame 4 man dungeon worth doing, and the 2 raids that people are farming offer no challenge at all.

The main reason I paid for 180 days in advance is because it's a Final Fantasy title.
If it didn't have 'Final Fantasy' on it...then it wouldn't be worth it. It has nothing outstanding in my opinion. It's not bad either though. Just..mediocre.
I am subbing to log on once a week for BC and myth cap. Then back to arma/dayz.
Just as every individual is different, so is every 'family' and it`s interior relations.
IMO.

I had to lol.
I encountered a whm that kept walk on all throught WP tonight. Fantastic healer, never made it through red though. The third time on second boss, we won, but because the whm wasn't targeted.

I've already subbed, and it's because I'm having fun. Got a nice FC, and I'm excited for the new stuff around the corner.
You can complain this is the same old game, with a new skin. I get that. But then what game do you propose that is so much different? In the end, most MMO's are the same game, and if they're not, they're rather dull or have other limitations.

I just wished SE would have tried to inject more uniqueness / innovation into 2.0. I get that they wanted to go the route which they think is safe (basically copying / selecting features which are good in other MMOs plus some tweaking and FF reskinning)...but I hoped for moreWell, let's see what they can come up with in the future.

They did what all businesses do. They look at success and try to emulate it. If you read Yoshi's strategy, he was very clear on this. And let's be honest, we're complaining about a good game not being unique, instead of 1.0, a bad game just being terrible. You have to look at this in context.I just wished SE would have tried to inject more uniqueness / innovation into 2.0. I'm hoping the future will be more unique as well. Time will tell. They have solid ground to do just that.

I'd rather say: they did what most businesses do. If all businesses would just emulate and iterate on previous stuff, there would be little to no innovation in the market. They did what all businesses do. They look at success and try to emulate it. I read Yoshi's ideas, and I can't say that I'm surprised of the outcome which is 2.0 because in fact he made very clear what they want to do. Anyway, I still hoped for more, that's why I referred to it as a 'wish', and I still have some hope for the future.
