Keep Fantasia as a sub reward

As the game almost directly intends you to only play one character (via subscription tiers and class structure) id say its almost needed to provide fantasia either cheaply in game or very regularly via sub rewards. For me, its all fine and good while i've got alot of story and classes left, but once all that's done, I can see myself wanting a change, realizing i'll have to pay additional for it, and just decide its easier to go off and play one of the many mmo's i've already played. Start all over to get 2 fantasias? Hell no.

More positively, knowing i'll have the flexibility to change my appearance if i want to would help keep that same old character fresh. In other games you have the variety of different characters by their design (new characters for each class).. so this isn't a problem.

My suggestion would be to give everyone a complimentary fantasia every 1-3 months. It would be a positive for me to keep subbing at least.

I'm playing 2 characters on different servers at the moment simply because I love both races. I would be perfect if I could reduce that to one character, and get a Fantasia potion say every 6 months so I can switch into the other race.

But then it does feel weird to allow people endless switches like that, even if it's limited to 2 switches per year. Maybe make it 1 per year. Get the first one on 30 days veteran, the next at 360 days, and then every 360 days you get another one. And make them stack+untradable would be nice.

But then again each of my characters have names that conform to the lore...although I know a lot of people really couldn't care less or they won't be running around with names like Super Man or You Tube or Jacky Chen or whatever they think is funny.

I don't really understand why its strange to change character appearance.. its a strictly personal thing. If you roleplay with others, you'll probably make the choice yourself not to morph into something else overnight. Even for people walking around in the world.. what gear people have becomes recognizable, with the right armor is hard to tell which gender someone is even.

My main point is.. due to the character design around one character.. Fantasia shouldn't be a privilege.. it should be provided cheaply and regularly.. it should be more compensation for the lack of variety from the 1 class design. Definitely not sold as a paid addition. My opinion anyway

Just add barbershops and make it a gil sink.

Also would be nice if we could dye other gear besides whites.

Would also be OK with this. Granted it would be a little weird to change your face while going to the barber shop, but there are other odd things in this game that don't make much sense.

I'd rather it be an expensive purchase from your GC. 15-20k seals per maybe? 30k at the most?

I just want it to be available somehow else. I don't care if they charge separately for it, every other MMO I've played offers services like name/appearance/race/faction/etc. changes for a nominal fee and I'm totally okay with it. I'm personally happy with my character at the moment but it really sucks to be playing a character whose appearance/race you're not satisfied with.

edit: GC seals is a neat idea. 20k is too cheap imo, maybe 30k-40k would be good.

Not just appearance, but the race and gender, i.e. the "core" of a character. I don't think we should be able to change that too regularly. I'm just leaning towards the 1-year mark as opposed to every 3 months. For appearance, we're getting the barber shop anyway for hairstyles, beard, face paint, etc.. Those we should be able to change every day, heck, every five minutes if we want. Just charge gil for that.

But for things like eye color, race, gender, shape of the nose...the things that a character is "born" with, I think there should be a much longer "cooldown" to any change.

What I feel strange is to change into any race we like, regularly, in short intervals.

Obviously, the lore reason is that it's really just a illusion (one that lasts, but still just an illusion), so perhaps it makes more sense to make it much more readily available. But definitely not sold at Mog Station.

We pay 10,000 seals for redistributing our physical bonuses; maybe it makes sense to also require more or less the same in-game investment for Fantasia? (In addition to the per-n-month veteran reward.)

The idea behind selling the item is similar to that of other MMO's.

It's a 'luxury' service, where the developer is able to cash in some extra money, which in the end aids the development of the game, it also puts people off changing constantly and affecting the 'consistency' of the world.


I VERY highly doubt it would happen, but some suggest it be added as an in-game item from the likes of your Grand Company or for Tombstones of Mythology and or Philosophy.
