And don't trust what any of those "connection speed test" sites that will tell you that you've got 100Mbps down with time warner or something, because they're compete BS. No civilian ISP in NA offers anything close to 100Mbps. The highest connection offered in the NA is 56Mbps. Not sure what it is in EU, but i've been told it's not as high as in NA or Japan.
You can get 500 - 1000 Mb in some countries already but it's pretty common to hav 100 - 200 Mb easilly.
