Summer Festival in FFXIV (Let's hear your suggestions!)

sunburns! status effect for people who wear their swimsuits WAY too much (I will fit in this category)

many many minigames

goldfish in a bag

fireworks, loud dangerous ones. and even ones that can be used to attack enemies, with some clever placement. (and its never too early to start thinking about airriders)

juicebar and ice cream vendor npcs in town, or whatever the Eorzean equivalent is

dunk-a-pool minigame, for those of us who have professionally honed our stone throw abilities, and want to show it off to our friends by dunking them into a giant pool of water

perhaps I am now breaching into the realm of unrealistic, my real suggestion is to implement it right now! it is 97 out as i type this I work in this heat, I need an escape and fast. save me Yoshi-P, you have the power

Summer minigames, swimwear, a special beach..all of that xD

But the most important thing is a really really big firework at the end of the event, which can be seen over the 3 starting towns (Gridania kind of..at a disadvantage?xD) and the special beach zone
Not some small firework crackers for the players like the peach confetti or something..I mean a big firework in the sky players can watch and know summer (event) is over now, but it was a fun time and summer will come again a year later!

Seriously, fireworks are kind of what defines summer for me

I just hope FFXIV's summer event doesn't turn into some kind of "Beach Party Madness!" event. It'd take some of the fantasy appeal out of it.

I think the top design looks weird on the Lalafells. The white lines are complete right angles due to the fact that there aren't any breasts to give them some curve.

I really hope they put in yukatas, if not in this festival, then in a future one. I *loved* my yukata from FFXI and would love to be able to wear one again. ^_^

For other summer festival stuff, we have to have fireworks! Displays that we can watch each night and ones we can use as items, Summer themed mini games or carnival type games, traditional summer foods like flavored shaved ice, ice cream, watermelon, fried food, etc.

Got to love summer! ^_^

Yukatas would be nice. I definitely like the "swimsuits" (skimpy bikinis) they already showed us. Would be great if there's more, but I'm kinda doubting it since somebody would have found it in the DATs by now... Maybe next summer.

Actually, it'd be great if they made unique events with new items each year, rather than recycling the events like XI did for the most part.
