Level Cap/Summons

Any idea when the level cap is going to be raised. I am going to school for radiology, have a live in girlfriend, and 4 animals to take care of. I just dont have as much time as I would like to play the game. I am just a little worried I wont have enough time to reach max level and run some end game content before they release new level caps and new end game content. I dont really want to get left behind.

Also totally different question, but is summoner going to be getting more summons down the road? Like Moogle, Leviathan, Shiva, Odin, or Bahamut?

Normally the level cap is being raised with the release of a new expansion. When the first one will be released is unknown until they tell us but my guess is that it will probably take ~1 year or longer. They said that summoner will get a new Egi with every level cap increase.
If anyone know if they plan to raise the level cap with patches please correct me.^^

i seriously doubt they would wait 1 year for new level cap n content, wasnt there some big update announced for november? housing/pvp other fun stuff?

Big update November yes, but that isnt an expansion, thats a Patch. They did however, mention that the expansion is mapped out (via TGS live letter translations, if I remember right.) I would expect them to raise cap between 5/2014-8/2014 imo.
As someone who levels slowly, I'm just hoping to get 50 in time for the Lightning Fate and 2.1... but who knows.

There will be at least three major content patches, which DO NOT raise the level cap, before the first expansion, those being patches 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3. Other big content is planned but not attributed to a patch yet.

The level cap will raise with the first expansion.

You should expect to see it hit in at least 1 year, but most likely closer to 1.5 years or so. Don't be in a hurry, MMORPGs rarely put expansions out as fast as EverQuest has.

i know a game released not even 6 months ago thats had 2 level cap raises :P used to play that while waitin for ff14 but company got greedy n changed even enhancing equipment requiring RL cash instead of ingame stuff

I'm willing to bet that wasn't a pay to play title but a free to play title with a very unbalanced store. Free games aren't subjected to the same standards as pay to play titles. Free games have to churn out content as fast as they can to keep their players; a game like FF14, or WoW, can afford to take it a little bit slower because people are in it for the long haul. Free games are used to occupy yourself while waiting for an actual game you're looking forward to.

I doubt there will be Bahamut as Egi so soon. Story-wise, Bahamut is the summon/eidolon/esper/whatever that uses so much of world's aether that is why he was imprisoned and thrown on the sky, so it would not kill the world (and the people, as he did in the end of an era rofl).


Shiva might probably be something near Dragonhead, since it's always snowy. Leviathan @ somewhere near Limsa.

theres some really balanced f2p games tho but i dont think they would wait over a year for 1st content upgrade since all those ppl who rush to cap everything then scream for more content = would lose alot of subs im guessin ;/
