How much VIT can you add to the ear Screws?
How much VIT can you add to the ear Screws?
From what I gathered you can get 12 of anything as long as the acc doesnt already have that stat, at the exception of DET which seems to be lower. But I'm not sure right now, I'll try to find some definitive answers.
Kalaan if you take a look at my gear now, I'm already at 24% Parry and I'm loath to let go of it lol.
But the thing is, I have the Ring of Lasting Shelter, which even though it doesn't look like much it's the only damage mitigation I have that actually scales with damage. So I don't want to get rid of that.
I've kinda been staring at this post until my eyes cross but I can't for the life of me think of a way to gain VIT without losing some Parry or losing my RoLS which I don't want to do.
My only thought is to add Vit with materia on the Earscrews but if the cap is just twelve I'll be John Brown if I'm gonna spend all that gil for only 216 more HP under defiance.
I would rather continue to upgrade to AF 2 and farm Turn 1 for stuff.
You're talking about the "Behemoth" ring right ?
I'd love some numbers on that to see how much it affect our mitigation !
Edit : Checked your gear, you have ~20 VIT to gain from your accs, it's something.![]()

There's a website with a chart on it. I'll try to find it, but it's a straight 3% directly off physical damage dealt to you.
Isn't it the ring with 6 vit +1 slashing, blunt and piercing resist... that would be 1% physical damage reduction( your base resistance is 100 the ring makes it 101 for each - or 1% damage reduction for each attack type)
I always back away from explaining the details for this because the people who figured it out are Nerd-lvl 90.
I'll try to find the site that explains.
So it comes down to :
6 VIT
3% physical damage mitigation
VS
10 VIT
9 PAR
12 ACC
12 CRT
12 STR
4 DEX
I'd say a Rose Gold Ring "fully" melded is better but a lot more expensive, as soon as I get your link to add it in the Sources section I'll talk about it in the OP. It looks like a really nice ring to use for a while since it's not really hard to grab but ultimately crafted ilvl 70 seems still really better.
Unless I'm missing something ?
As for the fact that you would lose parry, I don't understand ? Right now you get 33 PAR from your accs, with a full set of HQ acc where you would meld one Battledance IV on each DPS one, you would look at 45 parry, so you would actually gain 12.
Sure it's long and expensive to get there but I definitely think it's worth the journey. I don't want to go that way but well, WAR DOES need way more gear (and way more specific) than PLD so... Plus those acc are damn great on a PLD too anyway.

I know it doesn't seem like a lot, but it adds up to a lot. It's basically a 3% eternal parry. It's damage you're not getting hit by. It's the closest thing that WAR will ever come to actually wearing a shield. The difference is especially felt in Caduceus.
What are you talking about. Gryphonskin costs the same to craft as rose gold. And you don't lose anything meaningful.
HQ Gryphon with 5 meld: 9 STR, 9 DEX, 12 Accuracy, 9 Skillspeed, 12 Parry ( 2x Parry III ), 10 Vit ( Vit IV and VIT II ), and 9 Crit ( Savage Aim IV )
HQ Rose Gold with 5 Meld: 10 VIT, 12 Parry ( 1x Parry III ), 12 Accuracy, 9 STR ( STR IV and STR II ), 12 Crit ( 2x Savage Aim III ).
You lose 3 Crit, for 9 DEX and 9 Skillspeed.
Skillspeed is not useless. It's a effect that is small, but free skillspeed is not something to be overlooked. Right now I have a 2.4 GCD, with no effort what-so-ever. That is a 4% increase in DPS/EnmityGeneration/Potential healing from Wrath Stacks/Quicker IB.
Only a complete and utter moron would argue that 3 crit is better then 9 DEX and 9 skillspeed.
