Unable to see text from other players in chat log

Despite the fact that my chat log is on the general tab, I am unable to see anything that anyone says except from Party chat, Tell, or yell. I can't see any shouts at all. Also, I can see the messages the performing emotes produces. Any advice at all would be appreciated. Ultros world if it matters.

I too am experiencing this issue. I lost my /shout chat after coming back from a duty.

EDIT: Relogging appears to have not fixed this issue for me. My chat is still bugged.

I experienced this all yesterday from 4PM EST until I logged out. I logged in and out a few times to see if that would resolve the problem. I hung out in Revenant's Toll where, normally, there are tons of people shouting for groups, speed runs, trades, etc. I couldn't even see my FC mates' shouts while they were there, either.

This didn't happen for every single player as I could see 1 or 2 shouts. Usually, though, it was of players also asking if anyone could see their shouts. Something is pretty messed up with the chat system.
