    There's a world of difference between trying to fight Titan in AF and trying to fight Titan with the level 55 GC weapon.

    The stat difference between AF and Darklight is huge. Even AK is significantly better.
    The stat difference between GC and Ifrit weapons are minor. Like 3 points of STR and 1 weapon attack power. The dps difference is like 2% and the OP is a tank not a dps. Those few extra points are not going to make a difference in holding aggro unless you're a bad tank.

    So yes, it's good to encourage people to be properly geared but it's bad to be anal about miniscule differences. I don't think people like you realize just how small the difference between GC and Ifrit is. The chance of that tiny difference deciding the fight is astronomically low.

    Go get the Darklight Sword.

    Two things:

    1) Step up. Take the heat. This is part of tanking. If you really feel that a small upgrade in weapon is the difference, I don't know what to tell you.

    2) If you do encounter DPS just dominating you're hate, they are doing it wrong. Hate control is a three-way-street. Mark targets, focus them down. Yeah, maybe the relic summoner will have to slow up his game, but that's not your *fault* or anyone's.

    Oh,

    this might sound a bit harsh, but you can skip ifirit and farm garuda, if we where in the same world I would take you myself till you got the garuda sword it has a higher Ilevel and will be more usefull than ifirit in the titan fight

    did about 10 garuda runs yesterday the sword dropped on the first run. Its random chance, and random chance can really **** you over sometimes after all just because you haven't seen it yet does not mean the next run your more lightly to see it you still have a 1/9 chance of getting it

    So unlikely it is not realistic ? LMAO i didn't make the exact math, but if it is indeed 0.48% it is HUGE. Man, it means it will happens for 1/200th of the pop. That's... i dunno, just means that there are looots of people in the same case. Except most would not bother with 200 runs obv, cause who does that for +1 damage ??

    I had the same problem with the cudgel, this is atrocious. Took me 132 runs to get it. Token system would be far better. Also, given your statement it sounds like you lost the roll for the sword, which sucks.

    Luckily for you, as a PLD weapon doesnt matter quite as much as equips, so I've seen people beat Titan with their GC weapon and a good set of darklight. Since the Ifrit droprate isn't treating you well, you may just want to call it quits on it for a while and go farm castrum and garuda.

    Like I said though, I definitely feel your plight.

    First off, I have to say, I don't believe that you beat Ifrit 205 times. I got my Ifrit weapon in like 8-9 tries. Everyone else I know did the same thing.

    But, let's say all of this is true. It may well be. Get your level 50 GC weapon, and move on. You're a tank, it's far less important to have the Ifrit weapon than others. You are not barred from the rest of the content. In fact my FC Paladin didn't get the Ifrit sword, and moved to Garuda and got that one.

    Assuming 1/9 dropchance on any of the weapons, the probability to get minimum 1 drop is x=1-(8/9)^n where n is the number of kills and x is the probability:
    n=1 > x~11%
    n=3 > x~30%
    n=6 > x~50%
    n=10 > x~70%
    n=20 > x~90 %
    n=50 > x~99.7%
    n=100 > There would be a 1 to 130000 for not getting a drop, which is still quite probable compared to winning the lottery.

    Well as dumb as this sounds, our FC runs started having the people that needed the weapon open the chest. 60% of the time it worked every time ^^
    But seriously, it seems to work better that way for us, unless you count that Saturday when we did Ifrit 15 times, 5 runs in a row we got books, and the book dropped 9 total times that day.
