this is correct.
this is not however. it's not questionable. it's a fact that a ssd can improve load times on your ps3. google it.A simple google search of Guru3d or tomshardware will prove that. Dont waste your money unless your looking for shorter load times, and even thats questionable on a PS3, the system was not designed for SSD's, the bios would have to support it properly for you to get the full benefits.
also:
it works for FFXIV.
Well I finally broke down and installed a SSD to try to help the PS3 cope with all characters onscreen. It was such a pain for me to target mobs that would be invisible or the lag from fates. The loading screens are now 1.5-2.5 secs tops. I haven't been able to test the more laggy fates yet, but I've done a few dungeons and my performance upgrade is noticeable. The characters(npcs) still drop out to conserve RAM from a distance, but they pop back much faster when you're close to them. I no longer run to a npc quest marker and need to wait a long time for npc to pop. This applies to fates too where you turn in supplies. I'm still going to update to the PS4, but installing a SSD was the best thing a PS3 player can do to help their performance. I thought I've give some hope out to other PS3 users who struggle to do fates. I picked up a Samsung 120GB 840 series.
btw yoshi p himself stated once that a sdd will help.
